I thought I would share a picture of my recent vacation in New Mexico. I spent a week riding in the mountains. 35,000 ft of climbing, 535 miles of riding, and 6 days of pure fun. Some very amazing scenery. Now I know how the guys in the Tour de France feel after a day in the Alps! By the way, I'm wearing the OFFICIAL Irish national Cycling Team Jersey. We are at the begining of a long (1,600ft, 12 miles) and challenging climb into Los Alamos. Literally Breathtaking!

I'm guessing it was a wee bit toasty riding through the desert.

Actually, it was in the low 90's, in Albequerque and Santa Fe, but most days it was in the 50's in the am and 80's by late afternoon. We usually completed the 80-100 mile rides between 1:00 - 1:30pm, depending on the number of ascents, departure (7:00-8:00am), and how long we hung out at lunch. My longest day in the saddle was 6 hours.
singlespeed, yeah, it might be just a little more powerful. It's like riding the wind! Hubby and I ride the BlueRidge Parkway quite a bit and we see guys and gals riding their bicycles all the time, have you ever road the Parkway before? Beautiful scenery that can't be beat, breathtaking, it'll knock your socks off!
A few years ago my nephew and I spent 3 weeks traveling in Indiana, Ohio, the Virginias, DC, Maryland and Tennessee before heading back to Texas. We spent a cool morning on the Parkway. I drove the Miata as fast as I dared! What a glorious road!
Welcome back Single Speed! I've missed you! Its good to see some of the old familiar faces coming back! Don't stay away so long next time, okay? It makes some of us worry!

Cool picture, Single Speed. It's nice to hear from you and I'm glad you are enjoying yourself. Hope to see more of everyone soon.
