For those of you who may be interested, the 32nd Longs Peak Scottish/Irish Festival is set for September 4th-7th in Estes Park, CO.

Tickets are $20 if purchased in advance online or at King Soopers grocery stores, $25 if purchased at the gate.

I've been twice and it's great fun. The massing of the bands is particularly impressive as they often have hundreds of pipers on the field at once.

Jbarron,

I just ran into your posts on the Long's Peak Highland Festival tonight, so am way too late to discuss attendance at the 32nd Long's Peak Festival (which I did attend).

I have been attending this festival yearly since 2000. I have Irish wolfounds that get invitations to attend every year. The only problem is I have to come along too and they charge me quite a bit.

I am part of the booths located at the Dog's of the British Isles venue (right next to all the #@*$$ canons that scare the bejesus out of the wolfhounds. We participate in the grand march, the nightly tattoos and the parade in Estes Park. I sneak away with the hounds to get a taste of one of the stouts or a Glennfiddich solera that I could not afford to buy otherwise. I flirt briefly with Isla St. Clair when she is signing CDs and DVDs, but the festival keeps her busy so, oh well.

I don't get to listen to most of the music acts but at least get to hear the bands during the tattoos. I am already scrimping for the 33rd Tattoo in September 2009.

September 10-13, 2009. This festival is always a blast. Clan Thompson will have a tent there. Hope to see some of you.

Did anyone make it up this year to Estes Park? The festival was a wee bit smaller than in previous event years but was still quite fun. Can't stop the pipes!
