wow! stevenpd! You did watch a lot of TV. Sad thing is is that I watched most of those shows too, so I spent a lot of time in front of the telly too! Nowadays, parents won't allow kids to watch that much TV as we did when we were kids. cool.gif But then shows are different now than they were when we were kids.

Some of these cartoons being mentioned are making me believe that I'm about eight or nine years old, sitting in the family room in my pj's and watching cartoons on a Saturday morning.

Speaking of Saturday morning, how could I forget the greatest Saturday morning program of all time:

WWF Superstars.

Hulk Hogan, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Andre The Giant, "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, Sergeant Slaughter, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, George "The Animal" Steele, The Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, Junk Yard Dog, Tito Santana, The Hart Foundation, The British Bulldogs, Koko B. Ware...

They were not human beings to me. They were gods.

Inside this grown-up body, there is still a little Hulkamaniac...

I loved so many... All I can think of right now are (think young child):
Scooby Doo
I loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Sesame Street
Alvin and the Chipmunks
Ducktales
I loved The Land of the Lost, but it was a newer version that didn't last long
Captain Planet
Alf
Fraggle Rock
Pound Puppies
Are You Afraid Of The Dark? (on SNICK)
Pirates of Dark Water
David the Gnome
The Care Bears unsure.gif
Rainbow Brite (hey it was the 80's)
I loved any animal shows like Jack Hanna's Animal Adventure

Dang, I'll have to think about it. I know there are so many more.

So true, so true. I even remember two more that are not on my previous list: Soap and The Gong Show (Mean Gene, the Dancin' Machine) But I also found time to do other things. biggrin.gif

I remember most of the shows listed by everyone else... I bet most of us even remember what time our favorite shows came on each week... and we were ready and waiting in front of the TV at those times.
I remember suffering through the last 5 or so mintues of Wild Kingdom (which I didn't like as a child) to see Disney at 7:30 every Sunday night. tongue.gif

I think there are so many choices for kids now days, it is hard for them to remember which shows are on when enough to get attached to any particular shows very much. Besides, they have Game Box etc Etc... and videos and DVD and computers which probably compete with TV time. I didn't have any of those when I was a child.

"Jim has no idea that the huge Nile crocodile was stalking him. Closer and closer and then, with amazing speed, the brute makes its final lunge. Although Jim leaps out of the way, he still would have been a goner if it weren't for the lifeline tied around his waist. Fortunately, we were able to pull Jim out of harms way. With Mutual of Omaha as your lifeline, you too can be prepared to meet life's sudden emergencies. Mutual of Omaha..."

Wonder what good ole Jim's doing these days now that he doesn't have to sell insurance.

Its a minor miracle to remember anything these days . . .

My TV viewing is practically zero now. Nothin' much worth watching.

I hear that. If I turn on the TV anymore, it's to watch something locally or because soneone happened to tell me something good was on. 500+ channels and nothing on...
