First, I want to offer prayers of gratitude. John is off the respirator and breathing on his own. That was a MAJOR hurdle crossed. And with that out he can now speak again.

His new hurdles are he is experiencing anxiety attacks and it is sometimes hard to keep him calm. Please also pray for his parents - the tension between the two of them (and his dad saying who knows what to him) has been bringing on some of the anxiety attacks. Please pray that his father can put aside whatever makes him act this way and instead act in the best interest of his son.

Next week John will have surgery to put a plate in his right leg and plastic surgery (muscles and skin grafts will be used) on the wounds in both legs.

Please pray God's calming spirit descend upon John and grants him the Peace that conquers all worry and fear so he can heal and be prepared for his next surgery.

Also, PLEASE pray for my niece. She is beginning to have a hard time dealing with all of this. And if you knew her, the fact she is admitting this means she really needs prayers. She has had three weeks of trying to be strong for John, for his mother, for his friends and for herself and it's all becoming too much. Please ask that God's strong arms shelter her and give her rest.

Thank you all for your faithful support of John, my niece and John's parents in their time of crisis.

Really appreciate the updates, Elspeth. We will definitely keep all these matters in prayer. Take care and have a great day!

Thanks so much haynes!

In the most recent update, John's mother writes he is becoming calmer. She thinks his anxiety was mostly in accepting what had happened to him and the extent of his injuries.

Praise God He has heard our prayers and is helping John in this next stage of acceptance.

Elspeth,
I am keeping tabs, too. I work in the auto insurance industry as a PIP adjustor ("PIP" stands for personal injury protection) and investigate auto accident claims and approve payments for medical bills. Once in awhile we handle "motorcycle with auto" accidents-the motorcyclists usually have very serious injuries.
I am sending prayers up on John's behalf for full healing, as well as prayers for the family. It can be a long, slow trek to healing, but his progress is very encouraging.
Shalom,

You all have been so faithful praying for John and he has come so far.

Now that his overall vitals have become stable, the new concern is for his legs.

John had two surgeries this week. Please pray they are successful. Veins and arteries were grafted into his leg. He can't be put on blood thinners because of his liver, so they are keeping them wrapped to keep the blood flowing. He had skin grafts and a plate put in as well.

If all does not go well, they may need to amputate.

All involved know they are lucky to have John alive. But they understandably pray his legs will heal.

Thank you all for your support of all involved.

Hallelujah! Praise God!

Since Easter, John has progressed very far, very fast. His internal injuries have healed and his surgeries to repair his legs are over.

He will be going to a rehab hospital soon. This will be a long and arduous process for him to regain control of his legs, but he is young, strong and determined.

John's mother wants to thank all who have prayed so diligently for John. She wrote she had been experiencing a crisis of faith over the last year, no longer certain what she believed, but when John experienced such miraculous healing after Easter, she knew her faith was back stronger than ever.

So much to thank God for. And thank you again to you all. You really are the best.
