Just out of curiousity.... Anyone else here in college/university, or younger?? It seems to me that I am probably one of the youngest people on here....
Not that that is a bad thing! unsure.gif Just an observation I have made in my short time here.... smile.gif

I had started to go to college a few years ago, but work and marriage took precedence. Maybe someday I'll go back...
Always nice to see the younger crowd getting involved!

BTW: I have to complement you on the garb. The Kingdom of Atlantia? Or am I mistaken in assuming that you are SCAdian?

I never really went to college but there are several others here that do, they just haven't really been around for a little while. You go to App State at Boone?

Well, I'm very much *not* younger, but I am in college. I'm a senior and will hopefully graduate next August. By the time I'm done with this round, I'll have a Bachelors in Science in Management Information Systems and a certificate in Database Management with an emphasis in Oracle database systems. What does all that mean? Not a lot, but I'm hoping it will look good on my resume. biggrin.gif

However, I do have to admit that I wish I had done this several years ago. Life is busy enough between working full time and raising a child alone, add school and softball (my girl) and school and you've got a busy life.

I started college in 1980 and am just set to graduate in September. I'm on the 25 year track! Would've graduated when I was young, but I made the mistake of joining an "Animal House" type fraternity. Then I got married, had kids, and college got pushed to the back burner. However, being that I'm working in the IT industry, having that degree will (I hope) protect me a bit better from being jobless again for 9 months like I was after the dot-com bubble burst.

Crowned One, glad to have a youngster on the forum. Even though it makes me feel a bit old to know that I should have graduated from college the year you were born. wheelchair.gif

Cheers!

Concentrating on DBM and Oracle is a good thing. In the world of big business Oracle knowledge can take you far. In my experience at both Ford Motor and DaimlerChrysler, they both have a huge amount of Oracle. I wish I had some experience with it!

Lol.... This is a switch. On most of the other online communities I frequent, I am one of the older members! I think that I will enjoy the change. smile.gif Just restrain me if I start acting too immature for all of you! w00t1.gif

As for my college, no I do not go to App State... puke.gif (sorry if that is any of y'all's Alma Mater). Even though my school pride makes me want to tell you where I do go, I don't make a habit of giving out my location online... too many psycho stalkers in this world! unsure.gif

I am a nursing student, set to graduate with my AA in Nursing this spring (I will stay in school for another year to get my Bachelor's though) doctor.gif <--- I really wanted to use that emoticon.... it makes me laugh!

As for my dress in my profile pic, it is a empire/romantic period (think Jane Austen) dress that I wore to a Historical Ball a couple of years ago. I love it!! It feels so elegant to put on!

Uh, does junior college count unsure.gif ? I have an Associate of Arts degree in Journalism, but that and $1.80 will get me to downtown Chicago on public transportation. I enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater as a transfer after getting my AA, but I spent too much time drinking beer, eating Chee-tos, and playing video games (I've cut back since then biggrin.gif ) and not enough time hitting the books.

beer.gif I've already done my time, Thank you, very much.

Crowned1, I went to college in the big town of Murfreesboro, N.C. I have my degree in Printing Technology and I use it everyday at work.

I enjoyed my time in NC, sleeping on the Outer Banks on the weekends, pig roast parties, all the friends I made, that wonderful thing that they didn't have in New Jersey, back then, EVERCLEAR!!!! Oh yeah, classes, for the most part, were pretty cool.

The worst thing about college, the Southern Baptist morons, who ran the school. NO SENSE OF HUMOR!!!!!!!
