That's right. I need baby names. No, we're not pregnant, I'll save ye that question. wink.gif But we are planning on getting pregnant just after the weddin in six months. I know, there's a whole other nine months after that to think about such things, but I've got it in my head now.

Truth be told, we're just looking for girls names. Boys names have been decided already. Labban Adam, and Naithaniel Poe. But girl names are giving us a bit of a problem.

Ange mentioned last night that she'd like to go with Summer Solstice Reeves. I said it sounds cool, but I wouldn't name a kid that unless they were born on the Summer Solstice. So that left us just as stumped as ever. I mean, we've got a 1:365 chance of being able to use that one. tongue.gif

So I'm looking for Celtic names for girls. Can ye help me out?

I'm not sure about Celtic ones, OR, but here's a few of the traditional Scots /Gaelic names we have in our family

Maeve, Fiona, Mairi, Sile, Morag, Elspeth, Shona - and Catriona, of course biggrin.gif

I've actually seen a nice website not long ago... why call a child summer solstice btw? seems a bit weird to me... sad.gif there should be a nice name for that! (winter solstice is better anyway btw smile.gif from then on the days become longer again! wink.gif )

anyway, I'll find that website for you, it weren't only celtic names but names from all over the world with meaning etc.
I like Liadan, it means grey lady. Where it comes from I don't know.
Siobhan is nice as well..

for our baby we were thinking about girls names and Craig came up with Kara Mhairi or Catriona (we both like both.. so its either that or Rowan Paul for a boy)

My Case have a close female friend named Rona and I just love this name In Gaelic it means Seal (like the animal) though there are several meanings for this name she associates hers with Seal so unsure on how each is associated with what but her's is associated with Seal. I find this name quite unique (at least stateside) and very pretty

I, personally, would go for Craig wink.gif

Regarding girl names, I like Brenna, Cairine, and Sheena in particular.

There's a nice lot of choice Celtic/Gaelic baby name sites on the net, oldraven - I'm sure you'll discover the one that's just right for you.
