Perhaps You Could Help..., Would love to hear opinions!

If you're really willing to find out what you believe, you've got to first do research. If you don't know about Christianity, at least read it all first. And, there are more resources than just the Bible.

And that goes for any religion. If you want to know, find out. It's all out there for you. Most people just don't want to get into that much detail.

I had my wife take the belief -o- matic and it was interesting...she was 100% Orthodox Quaker... we share many ( most ) of the same beliefs! It just goes to show how one minor adjustment to an answer about belief can change what group you are lumped with!


This is a good exercise at least to get one thinking... how different are we all really!!

Oh I have researched most of my life!!!

I have come to the conclusion that there is a prevelent theme...
That one thing that creaps out of all religion...

What you do effects those around you and what they do effects you... so tread softly because everything has a purpose and effect !!!

can one really call themselves methodist or christian and not believe God is infinite?

to add to oldraven, when you do research you still have to keep you eyes open. Some of it may sound great, but it's built on nothing but theory... kind of like evolution.

I'd call it fairly accurate from a perspective of how I see myself. I had to wonder a little bit about seeing Roman Catholic rating at all for me, but then I must admit that although I have my beef with the old Roman church I don't know enough about its modern incarnation to say and I've grown up in a world peppered with it. Makes sense in the end. An integral part of life's balance. Guess I need to find out what some of these are =)

I didn't mean theory in the scientific sense. Just wishy washy, based on blah, based on my nickel was dropped 10 times and landed on its head every time so let's worship it. There are the religions that think evil is the ruler of everything and you should abide by it. My friend's friend is in one of those cults.

What I would say, has been said. I did not know, nor did I care about religion. In High School, a Babtist friend of mine began to coach me a little, and I began reading the Bible. I was curious of what it really said. Diring this time, I had a spiritual rebirth. Granted this was in a very Christian environment of course, and during this time I found a degree of enlightenment in the truths in the teachings of Jesus, The Annointed One. I still believe that he had an idea of what was going on and taught as pure as he could. Rather or not he truly was the son of God is irrelivant in my eyes, he still taught truth the same. During this time, I found a more comfortable representation in the image of the angels of Heaven than in the teacher himself (in any aspect) So I used that as a interface of sorts, although always keeping my eye on the true source of the teachings, Jesus and God the father. It was also during this time that I found my belief in the omnipresence of spirits amoung us and the ability to communicate in a bi-directional manner via meditation.

What comes next might sound silly, but it's how this happened to me. I had just finished watching The Craft and Practical Magic and found myself wondering what the truth was about Witchcraft. What was it about it that everyone was so afraid of? Why was it connected with Satan?

With no clue what I was to find, I started searching for the truth about Witches, I had heard once a couple years prior that Witches were not the evil hags society would have us believe, but I had nothing to back that up. As I dug, I found more and more of Christ's fundimental teachings parallelled in Wiccan belief, and I actually now prefer the Wiccan phrasing in the rule of 3 and the Wiccan Rede to the Christian ways of saying the same thing. So much simpler.

At the same time, I was becoming familiar with Celtic music, and hearing of the role that women reportedly played in the old society. This thought made me curious of what it would have been like in that kind of society... A search which rather quickly led into the study of the ancient Druids. I regret to say, however, that due to the scarcity of information about the ancient Druids, this is a very difficult path to follow. Srudy it long at all and one must filter through to find how much of what they are reading is Neo-pagan, how much is Wiccan thought, and how much is authentic information from the ancient Druids. These are three very diffrent schools of thought, that one will often find intermixxed in some rather loose yet confusing tangles. To be sure, this is probably why my thought probably carries a mre Wiccan path than that of a neo-pagan Druid. Of course, mystic lines spoken in rhyme don't hurt anything =)

I hope that this gives you an idea of what turns your quest can take. Tread thy road with care, keep an open mind, and listen to your soul. and my all means, keep your BS meter on. If it sounds like BS, and you can't find something to back it up, then it probably is BS. While on your search, evaluate and reevaluate your way of thinking. and remain true to yourself.

What makes me laugh is that you can align yourself with so many different religions, and yet still be part Nontheist.

I don't get where they get these percentages. It's just silly. You can't be both Jewish and Atheist.

Read the Intro to the quiz again please! It does not say "YOU ARE" it says these are the beliefs according to your answers that fall the closest to your's... it also says these may be of interest for you to research! NO where did it say this is your religion.

As I said before ...it is amazing how similar beliefs are ( atheist, jewish, christian, druid, wiccan etc. ) answering one of these questions a little different can definatly
change the order ... My wife and I share almost identical beliefs, yet she tested Quaker... one answer was different and that was all.

Did this not tell you what you wanted to hear... your belief in your catholic faith?
