This past year has been a year of reality in a form I never knew. Read that at about 25 you change completely. I have been 25 half way through and I must say I feel like everything in my whole life has changed. And I dont take to change very well, maybe cause my life has never been so solid. Death has been in my thoughts, it is my way out if I should need, and I mean really need it. But for tonight I thought about the things that make life worth holding onto just a little while longer.

Looking up into the dark, purple sky seeing lightning streak across and feeling the light cool breeze blowing through my hair

The way my 5 year old uses her hands to talk to me when she is excited

The way( His) eyes are so blue

Watching the older man at the food store shop for food by himself, he looks so soft, humble and yet kinda lonely while all the while having this sweetness to him

Standing in the rain, the warm rain in the middle of SanAantonio

looking out over the land and seeing nothing but beautiful green rolling feilds with a mixture of colors in the sky behind

That warm feeling I get deep down inside when my true love says thankyou for all I do to make him happy

Realizing some may care about me when once I thought they did not

That certain song that comes on and gets into your soul

Feeling Jehovah God near me when pouring your soul out to him

(My world is green today)

Thought of some more things

Photo Albums

A near gray/black sky ahead/ the sunlight shinning behind casting brightness on the rainbow that is close in front of me

The airport when going to see your love then being embraced in a hug so tight you can feel every heartbeat

Watching a neighbors cat roll around on it's back happily

Realizing my hair is hitting it's almost long hair mark

Eating Bryers mint choclate chip ice cream-but wait thats not all--mixing it till it melts then eating the mint chunks last, ummm

Waking in the middle of the night, gazing over to see through the moonlight your true love sleeping sound next to you always within your loving reach

Remembering when my dad thoughtI was the best thing to the point he would make a fool of himself just to get a laugh from me

Having someone laugh at the jokeI made even though I wasnt trying to be funny, cause if I were of been trying to be funny I wouldnt have been, but good to crack a good one now and again

You are right, there is so much in this world that makes life worth living.
Don't forget the fields that are blue as the sea with bluebonnets. I miss those.
Living up here in Alaska. I have a Texas Highway with pics of the wildflowers of Texas and I have to look at it every spring.
As we get older we learn to take nothing for granet. biggrin.gif

Things that make life worth living? I think that way forget the simple things in our day to day, hectic lives. We get so caught up in the here and now that we almost forget what ,truly , brings happiness to our lives.

The way my 5 year old boy smiles from ear to ear and hugs me like a bear when he comes over.

The way the smell of honey suckle follows me on my walk to work everyday.

The beauty of the moon at night and the blessing that I live far enough in the country that "light pollution" doesn't block that wonderous orb.

The sound of "I love you" whispered in my ear to wake me in the mornings.

A good, clean, close shave while bathing in a nice, hot, relaxing bath.

Remembering my brother's smile.

Writing a story that comes to life on its own and creates itself. And, all you can do is help it into this world like a midwife.

Listening to the crickets at dusk.

Listening to the utter silence that exists the moment after the last rays of light disappear and just before the moon's rays emerge. It's a magic anticipation.

The anticipation before kissing the one you love

I could go on..but I think I've said enough

those were nice to read, I would love to hear more--and Texas, I remember......

Northern Lights in winter and Midnight Sun in the summer.
Seeing pictures of my grand daughter when she was only mins. old.
Seeing her for the first time in person when she was 6 months.
Watch my youngest daughter and her true love and rembembering what love was
like when it was so new.
Walking in the woods and feeling the presents of God in the stillness.
Watching a bull moose in the middle of a creek with his head down eating.
Watching him raise his head and the water that's running from his antlers glissen
in the sun. So breath taking that you forget to get your camera.
Watching Eagles over head dancing on the wind. Watching your daughter slip and fall because she's watching them and not where her feet are.

These are some my favourite things:

Having my 10 year old daughter sit on my lap, kiss my cheek and say, "I love you, Daddy".
Watching my sons playing hockey, laying on a really good check or scoring a goal.
Waking up in the morining and realizing my wife is holding me.
Playing with my pipe band with drum scores I wrote, especially with a big drum corps.
Remembering the Rockies, what they looked like at sunrise in the winter.
Driving down a road in the fall past big, old trees, with their leaves looking like they're on fire.
Cuddling on the couch with my wife.
Laying in bed on Christmas morning, listening to my children's reactions when they go downstairs. Big smile there!

Could you just imagine how terrible life would be without true love

Let's see. . .

Kisses from my wife.

Hugs from my 3yr old Goddaughter.

Hugs from my wife.

Hugs from my church friends.

Hugs in general.

Kisses from my wife.

Singing with my friends Rick and Billy Bob in our cowboy trio and hitting the harmony just right.

Kisses from my wife.

Playing guitar with no one to hear me except God.

Did I mention kisses from my wife?

A few thoughts......

The smell after it rains...oh so clean the air.

The smiles on my beautiful children's faces.

A thought provoking song.

The beautiful smile I get from my wife.

Friends.

Everyone here.....

The promise to the world of each new day arising

The moment when you give a little smile to a stranger and he's smiling back

The moment you hold your newborn in the arms and you feel the miracle and mystery of life

To see my sons growing up and finding their own way

To wake up in the morning and another day is given to you

To walk barefoot through the grass in the very early morning, when the dew drops on it are shining like diamonds

The beauty of music

Those precious moments when time seems to stand still and your soul is wide opened

The magic of nature

Friends at your side

....

A few more...

Placing my face against my pregnant wife's belly and feeling a kick on my cheek (no we're not pregnant! I'm speak of past experience).

That good kind of being tired that is a result of hard work.

Sinking a hole in one when playing putt-putt with my family.

The sound of children laughing.

Playing with my dogs or watching them play.

Things that make life worth living...

Hugs and kisses from my three children

Their unconditional love

The way my Golden Retreiver "Champ" smiles with his teeth grining and his face goes all soft when he greets me.

A clear stary night---wonderous!!!

The quiet of a late night...it's just me and God and I'm trying to listen

The ocean crashing against a rocky shore

Seeing the full moon just after dusk while traveling on a bridge (It's so full and large it doesn't look real)

Great friends and family (This includes all of you guys)

The smell of gardenia's floating on the air on a breezy night

The sound of birds cherping while reading on my front porch

I love words, Roisin. They are a wonderful means of communication and especially expression. They are mighty...can pet and heal and enjoy...and hurt and destroy. Words are what colors are for a painter - handle them with care.
I'm still annoyed sometimes I can't do it in English as well as I would do it in my own language.

My writings,,dark though they may be, they have been my joy and comfort for many years.

My books(see the above reasons)

My family and my roots..crazy though they may be, they is no place on earth that I feel more at home and my aunt mabel's...god I miss them

the thought of being able to achieve anything I put my mind to(I'ma little stubborn)

The thought that another day is another day to make the world a better place. one grain of sand at a time.

Philosophy

My faith

My teachings

*sigh*
