With all the oil problems, earth quakes, wars, civil unrest, etc.

What is your prognosist for mankind?

And what do you base your opinion on?

Well , I'm sűre mother nature is not happy to see what people do and how we use ressources .We abuse of all nature can give .As a pagan I don't believe in the end of world but I think we destroy by ourself the planet .

If you do recycle , just look at your neighbour who do not do it because he don't care.It takes years and years before my parents start doing recycle because they don't believe it's important.A lot of people think the same. The mankind is not so brilliant in general .People who cares pay for those who don't.

The problems occuring in the world to-day are the result of humankind's arrogance and greed. We are slowly but surely killing our Mother and unless attitudes are changed in the near future then we as the dominant species are sure to become extinct. The Planet will survive although it might be uninhabitable for millenia but it will survive and maybe in the far distant future creatures will arise who will have more respect and concern for their home. Maybe we need an apocalypse to knock civilization back a few thousand years and give us a chance to start over and do it better.

I think attitudes are changing, but are they changing fast enough? I don't think we understand our biosphere well enough to know where the tipping point is, which makes us both too carefree and too panic ridden at the same time. The bottom line is the same, stop doing what we're doing, but its for our own sake not the planet's. It would help if we'd stop lying to ourselves, both in terms of justifying the continuity of destructive activities and proffering pseudo-noble ideas like "saving the planet", a phrase that reaks of denial, for how can a humanity whose activities are responsible for causing the damage about which they subsequently lament, save the object of their carelessness? The two attitudes cannot coexist, and this duplicity does little to solve the problem for it deflates commitment and perpetuates fence-sitting. Is it an emergency yet? That's the question to ask, for when its considered of paramount importance to live in such a way that we don't destroy that which we depend on for life, then that will be the only turning point that will evoke sufficient emotion and commitment to the task at hand. You can't want things to change and stay the same simultaneously. Hard choices are afoot and superficial token gestures yield superficial effects.

Regarding human stupidities like war, I have no prognosis. When humans tire of thinking of war as a solution and begin to think of it as untenable as a problem solving method and as an abomination in its own right, they will no longer choose it. History tends to convince us of an unlikelihood of such a stance, but remoteness is not impossibility. What's assinine to me is that still mankind destroys other humans over religious ideas, something they cannot prove or even know but simply believe. Primitive is the consciousness that considers the reality of human life of lesser importance than a speculative cosmology.

Antwn; Well spoken my Friend well spoken.

War is an abomination and no one hates war more than those who have fought it, but man is a warring animal and will be one for some time to come. War is Man at his best and at his worst and it is ironic that most great advances in civilization are ( to this point in time) the result of War.
Perhaps it will end when the day comes that all humanity ponders the age old question "What Price,Glory" but until that day I'm afraid we will go on butchering each other over stupid petty beliefs.

Hm.

It will take the kind of war that appalls to the core to shock mortalkind out of it.

Unfortunately, it willnae' be by any mortal... A mortal in the end would have mercy... It'll be by something else...

Last year my friends and me had some strange things happening to us. I believe I did tell about those about half a year ago, maybe a little more than half a year...
In essence we learned, that earth is not at least pleased with what we humans do to her. The first things we were told happened around the time the oil was flowing into the gulf. There were things one of my friends saw, that made us believe, there's more to come. And there was. Think of what's happening in Africa at the moment. Think of Japan.
Some weeks ago I said the earth is shaking, She's trying to shake us of, in some kind. Or maybe shake us awake. Again and again I think of a joke I was once told. Two planets meet. The first says: "So, how are you?" The second responds: "Oh, not so well, I have homo sapiens." The first one comments: "Oh, I've had those too, it'll pass." I feel, what's happening is some kind of wake up call.
Plus, I'm a water being in some way. I feel strongly connected to water. And I gotto say, for some time now, I feel the rage in the water. I do believe it's connected to what's happening in Fukushima with the radioactivity poisoning the water.

Well, in essence: I do believe Gaia's showing us, that we can'T live without her and that we should seriously start thinking about what we do to her.

Essentially it was what happend during the last year.
There were a volcano erupting, a huge wave destroying a city that couldn't be defined at that time. There was a fire spreading from city to city of which my friend said, she believed it to be metaphorical and some kinds of riots. At last there was an attack on some soldiers, but she couldn't say when and where.
As by now, we know of the volcano in iceland, the tsunami and the riots in Africa.

How about the heat and drought?
How about torrential rains?
How about the new unrest in the Middle East?
How about.........?

I think more people then ever are preparing for some kind of major event that will change the world as we know it!

What do you think?
