 Though I've been very interested in Irish dancing and have watched several live performances, I have never been blessed to watch a highland dance preformance.
And I was wondering if someone could introduce me to the basics.
What kind of dances are there?
The history behind it?
Does anyone have clips?
I'd love to know more! |

Hello there,
Thought I'd introduce myself real quick.
What to say?
Well, I'm a writer. (more often than not.. hah though we all have our days)
I'm Canadian, born and raised.
Both of my parents are from the same community in Northern Portugal, so I blame the town's celtic origins for my obsession with celtic myth, music and history.
How is everyone doing this fine evening (day, afternoon, whatever it be there)

I am new to the CR Community as well & enjoying every minute of it. As for what's new? I don't know what part of Canada you live, but it is Saturday & need to walk the dog & shovel the snow, as it is snowing at this time 
I believe the temperature is -4, windchill ??????? Anyhow, enjoy the CR forums & variety of Celtic music and I shall chat with you soon.
