FREE SCOTLAND OUR HOME I stand in the highlands the wind in my hair I gaze at the land and feel kinfolk there They fought against tyranny Their blood they did shed The echoes of battle resound in my head Hundreds of years in bondage were kept But you that are free know not of that We are proud and loyal so our fight must go on Not with the sword, but the pen of each son I say to you now and I vow it in blood We'll not go away, but return like a flood Stand we will Yes, we are back Spawn of indentured, did you know about that Sold for Brit gold our Grandsires were Yes, Scotland we'll free with guidance from you Those in the homeland we pledge to go forth We give our lives, our heads and our hearts. I need to hear those lines- I thank you and am proud that your heart is filled with such verse. Time reveals the atrocities of our past. We take what's given to us as providence deals it's hand- and we cry, strive, and endeavor to right what wrongs we can and fulfill our sense of justice- poetic, blood and bone, or philosophic- as long as we care tandvh |
