There have been no problems or warnings on my end. I didi have some trouble with IE shutting down but it was something to do with my printer. Hope you get it cleared up.

Thanks for everyones help. Just to ease your concerns about cookies and warnings from security software.

The cookies we use are needed to make the site work. They store your login information on your computer so when you come back you don't have to log in. We also use cookies for some of the menus, to pass information from page to page.

There is nothing to worry about - all of our code is safe. Your more than welcome to have our address and telephone number - in fact it is listed in our monthly newsletter.

The source of this bad information is google. Strange as it seems that google is now tracking this information and blacklisting innocents sites. We will be calling their offices on Tuesday for sure.

Even so, the error message about "website forgery" is so silly! We are try to forge CelticRadio.net?

I do appreciate everyones help on this to clear our name from this list. It appears this was added after someone contacted Google or their organization http://www.stopbadware.org.

Also, the above member has not contacted us again after repeated emails about this subject. Up until this issue we had receive many emails from him, so while I have no proof he caused this, I am really leaning towards the fact that he is very likely to be involved in this.

Just to restate, this issue is only effecting Firefox and Opera users. IE is not effected.

Thanks again everyone.

I never thought of this site of being involved in any "unclean" activities: of course I sent a clean report.

The only thing unclean about this site was probably my request for sports questions on trivia nights. Anyways went to McAfee and all is clean. Thanks as always.

I reported to Google that Celtic Radio is a 100% safe site but let me tell you something weird. My MSN Spy Sweeper is blocking access to Microsoft as it says it is a known spamming/spy cookie site!

I reported to Google also and commented on what kind of security system they were running taking someones word and not doing a proper investigation before posting such warnings or allegations.. Told them politely to remove their head from where the sun don't shine.

Hi Paul,
I've send out a piece of my mind to Google as well today, especially that today I feel like killing someone well couldn't be a better time to vent it on them... taz.gif
Don't let me get my hands on the S.O.B that did this....

P.S.Never received anything from anyone about this site being a scam yet.

This is the best community on the internet! I am happy to report that Google has swiftly removed that warning message.

We are convinced this is because of all of the reports everyone here made. Usually they don't do this sort of thing over the weekend and especially holiday weekends. So our thanks to everyone for helping us out.

It really does expose a serious flaw though in Google's monitoring of sites. While this warning message would not have much of an effect short term on our site, if someone was running a website that was their lively hood, that would really have a financial effect on them. T

hat is not too good for Google to have all of that power. I have always been a pro - google person, but I am thinking that perhaps this exposes a serious flaw in allowing one website to control too much of the flow of the internet.

Thanks again for everyones help! biggrin.gif Happy Labor day weekend!

I've threatened them to change my Google search engin for another quite seriously and that I would suggest it to my corporate office as well.

Don't know if it had an impact or not jsut felt good to piss them off my own way...

Glad it's over and done.

What is "phishing"? I got that same warning. Problem is it isn't only here with CelticRadio but also on LDS MOMS and a few other perfectly safe sites. This message has knocked me out of here and other good places. It seems to put up a block or firewall in places that are good places. Seems to me this warning and block is coming from someone that doesn't want us to have good friendly places to go. I would say it was maybe an upset member but seeing as it is happening on other sites, including a few school sites, it has to be coming from outside the group.

QUOTE (subhuman @ 30-Aug-2008, 12:31 AM)
It can appear on older versions if people are foolish enough to trust Google to decide where they can and cannot websurf.

Click on "tools"
select "options"
click on the "security" tab
switch from "check by asking Google about each site I visit" to:
"Check by using a downloaded list of suspected sites"

OK, foolish is not the same as not knowing where to go to change the option, or even knowing it exists.

Thank you. Learned something new.

Sorry, you're right- foolish is a bit harsh here.
Older versions of Firefox, Google wasn't the default "authority" on what sites you can visit- so I assumed anyone who changed it, did so intentionally.
Well, we all know what assumptions do...

Again, I'm sorry to anyone I offended by that comment.

I've been anti-Google for many years. Anti-"Any Group that Has Too Much Control" for that matter. If this incident opens a few peoples' eyes, in my opinion it's a good thing.
CRN was only blacklisted for a short time, so as Mac said, probably no real harm done here- and maybe some good will come out of it.
The unfortunate reality is that Mac probably needs Google's money from their ads to keep this place running, so unless some wealthy benefactor comes along he's probably pretty much stuck with them.
It takes a lot to run a site like this. A lot of money, a lot of hardware, and most of all- a lot of time.

What is "phishing"?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phishing
The original site itself may be perfectly safe, but phishing usually involves someone making an identical-looking counterfeit site, then redirecting users to the counterfeit site in order to acquire their personal data.
"Social networking sites are a target of phishing, since the personal details in such sites can be used in identity theft; in late 2006 a computer worm took over pages on MySpace and altered links to direct surfers to websites designed to steal login details. Experiments show a success rate of over 70% for phishing attacks on social networks."

/me cheers for joy! smile.gif
I recommend dogpile.com
Not a search engine itself, they're a metasearch engine- meaing you pose your query to them, and they contact Google, Yahoo! Search, Live Search, Ask.com, About, MIVA, LookSmart, and more- then return those results to you.
One-stop-shop for searching.
What disturbs me most is your company using them- especially if you have the Google Toolbar installed on work PCs.
The Google Toolbar, while installed, reports back each and every webpage you visit to Google. With a corporate intranet, at least half the security comes from outsiders not knowing it even exists. (hard to crack what you don't know exists)
While Google themselves may not make use of this info, data has been stolen from them in the past. This opens a major security hole for your company.
Not to mention for anyone who does any person transactions- online banking, etc- on their work computer.

I have two modes: wiseass and dumbass. Mode is determined by current blood alcohol level.

Drinking is a sport. In order to be competitive, you must practice on a regular basis. Although you can practice alone, it is much more fun to practice with friends. If you're out of shape and practice too hard, you will regret it the next day.
