Hey Patch! I have been to a few Octoberfests! They are fun. My family settled in NC and GA when they came over the pond from the UK. But even though my family's heritage is English and Scots-Irish, we all loved to participate in the Octoberfests. beer_mug.gif We don't have those out west here. At least, not to my knowledge.

Haggishead, I hope you come by our 1745 Jacobite camp and say hello to me. I think there is a photo of me in my 18thc clothing in my gallery. If I am not at the camp, I am hanging out with the Wicked Tinkers. You surely can't miss me in my out of date clothing. I have actually gotten dirty looks from people in restaurants when I have no choice but to wear my dress before or after an event. I guess people think I am from some religious organization they don't approve of or something. I usually try to take that opportunity to tell them what I am and from what century, that greatly helps. LOL

I also make my reservations early every year because since it is a two day event, hotels get full fast! Plus, everyone in the desert is going up the mountain to get out of this blasted heat! biggrin.gif
