I saw a movie based on a true story.A 10 years old girl die after she was beat(not sure if it's the right term) by her stepmother (mostly)and by her father. She die in the attic after she have know many suffering. It happend in 1920.The house still exist today and people are living in it.My question: will you accept to live in a house if you know someone was murder or any way not natural that have cause a lot of suffering?
I will never go in the attic and will never enter in this house.

I would.

Although the jury is still out with me on Ghosts, I wouldn't let the possibility of ghosts keep from living somewhere. In fact, I might be more tempted to do so, in order to try to see if they really do exist or not.

I am a believer of ghosts , Not that I have had any major experiences. I do get scared sometimes , especially when you feel as if someone is watching you. Their obviously harmless right? Except for the bad spirits. Has anyone Seen Red Rose? This movie will surley scare the pants off you!! rolleyes.gif

I wouldn't protest living in a house that could be haunted by a tortured spirit, so to speak. As a skeptic, I would be quite scared but I think that anyone who lives in any type of dwelling, no matter the age, is going to eventually find out some history behind its past tenants. Imo, there's really nothing that can hurt you as long as you know your (and it's) boundaries and do not allow those boundaries to be broken. I've followed ghost stories and accounts of hauntings on Unsolved Mysteries and one thing that I've learned is that anyone (even a skeptic like myself) can experience supernatural entities...that in of itself is an eery thought, but a real one.

I don't know about ghosts per se, but I have a vivid imagination and sometimes it has a pretty thin skin on it. Haldur is right when he says that every house has a history, and all of it is not likely to be happy -- but it's all in how much of it you know. I think if I knew that, for example, that child Aurore had been tortured and died in that house, I might very well be haunted by my own thoughts about it, and it would take away from my feeling of being comfortable in my home. So I probably would not want to live in it, if I knew. But it wouldn't be about fear, or the residues of the child's suffering still literally clinging to the house.

I saw this movie Red rose.My mother hate this kind of movie ,I saw it a few weeks ago. When the movie start at the tv my mom sad it looks like good.I said it was science fiction and she believe it but when my dad start laughing and listen the movie more then 15mins.Oups.

I'm a bit like Stoirmeil , my thoughts will haunted me more then a ghost specially when 2 movies and the theatre show it so many times everywhere. We have a pretty good idea of the treatment Aurore receive and trust me , it is inhuman.

I have no problem living with ghost but before living somewhere I take great attention of the past of the place.

I tend to believe that ghosts are quite real. and it depends on the nature of the spirit rather I'd want to live there or not. Benign or indifferent, and I'd have no problem with it. I don't want any part of a malignant haunting though.

We live in an antique house, built in 1671. When we were in the process of buying it, the owner told us there was a ghost that made an appearance of sorts from time to time, but only in the top floor. It was a man that would walk up the stairs and across the room, sometimes appearing as a shadow on the wall. He hadn't been heard or seen for quite some time, and the family wasn't sure he was still around. The kids were not at all afraid of him, though they'd seen him when they were younger. By all accounts he was a benign spirit. We thought it was a good story, and weren't really concerned about it. In the first year that we lived here I was surprised by the number of people who, when they found out where I lived, would ask me if "Mr. Shadow" was still there. Seems a great many people grew up in the neighborhood, and had seen his shadow through the upper windows when no one else was inside. Other people told me of having lived in the house for short times while they were younger, and having heard and/or seen the ghost. No one was frightened by him, just curious to see if he was still around. The family we bought this house from even went so far as to name him Ebenezer, because they felt it was more personal than "Mr. Shadow".

We didn't have any encounters with him until just a couple of years ago, and even then I'm not really sure it was him at that time. Could have been this house settling itself. I was alone one night while hubby was away on business, girls asleep downstairs, and I heard footseps coming upstairs to my room. They stopped at the top of the stairs. When I looked no one was there. Well, it *is* an old house. My grandfather used to investigate reports of haunted houses as a hobby, and told us kids that in all but one instance he found it was actually old floorboards settling, or stair treds needing replacement, or old plumbing, critters in the walls, etc... Well, lately I've been waking up in the middle of the night to hear footsteps crossing the floor (carpeted), and my hubby has even sat up to see who was there -- no one. No shadow appearing, just footsteps stop in the middle of the room. I don't know what to think, but if it really is Ebenezer I don't think we need to worry. He's never ever been anything but benign, by all reports. I only wish him well, and that he could finish whatever it is that keeps him returning.

I do live in a house where someone was murdered. Our house sits on the prairies of eastern Montana, built in the 1920s. The first family to live in it was a split family (4 kids, then a break, then four more). Anyways, one day when the kids were at school, the father came in, shot his wife and then himself. Not long after, the older children left school to work and take care of the younger ones. The young ones got home one winter afternoon before the older ones. They were cold so decided to start a fire. For some reason, something exploded in the fire and killed one of them.

In our house, electronics will suddenly turn off or on or do other wierd things. There is a short hallway connecting my room to my brother's with the bathroom inbetween. Nothing will stay on the wall between my room and the bathroom unless it is thoroughly screwed down. We had an old moveable type box with several little nicknacks in the boxes. The box itself was screwed into the wall, completely level, but none of the little nicknacks would stay up. We know it is a good spirit and think it is either the wife or the young child.

I think I would live in the house despite the history of the house...although were the story more extreme I probably wouldn't live there.

Like, if the house belonged to a serial killer who tortured, raped, and murdered numerous different people on the grounds, I'd have to say no way.

I agree with Aaediwen, it depends upon the spirit. Given that I used to live in a haunted house the prospect of living with a ghost doesn't bother me. The ghosts that inhabit my family home are benign although they do scare me sometimes but that is my own fault for not realizing they are there beforehand.

Now I did go in a reported haunted house that was for sale that neither my sister nor I will step one foot in again because we believe a malignant spirit resides there. My Mom on the other hand would like to go back but she's of stout heart and stubborness.

For me it would depend on the ghost. I have been lucky enough to be able to tell pretty quickly if the ghost is full of malice or not.

I lived in a house that had a ghost, but it didn't manifest itself until I had been in the house several months. It was not a nice ghost. If I was alone in the house it would pound on the outside of the second story wall of my bedroom. One of the last nights I spent in the house, it came into my bedroom where I was sleeping and yanked my very heavy comforter completely off my bed. It was very scary!

Then again, on my honeymoon we went to New Orleans. Which I would have to say is probably the most haunted city in the USA. My wife and I went around to all the houses that were supposed to be haunted and you could just imagine the ghosts in those old, old houses! I even have a picture of what I think is a spirit. It was taken in the oldest tavern in the USA.

I would and help heal the spirit, avenge it if necessary, and help it to pass on. Otherwise, I would leave it be. Those views are part of my belief system.

Yes, I like that show, it is spooky, but I did happen to catch the second part when it was on TV, I need to check out the first though, since I didn't get to see the first part, there was a lot of questions left unanswered for me. Like, how they knew to go there, did someone ask them to go or did they know of the house before...thaingsl ike that.

I would def. live someplace like that. I have had a few experiences that I think justify my theory that ghosts are real, but like i tell everyone else on this subject or are skeptics, I can't make you a believer, you need to experience it yourself.

What an irony that is. You can't imagine recent events would have cleared the vibes any, can you? There's more residue of grief, fear and anger there now than anywhere else in the United States. While I wish the brightest success possible to their hopes to overcome all of it in good time, I don't think I could bear to live there, or even visit.

When I was in junior high school, we moved into a home built in 1910. Shortly after the home was completed, the owner (Captain McCarty) died. When we moved into the house in 1990, many people in town asked us if we had seen his ghost, as the previous owners and their guests had been reporting sightings of him for half a century. I never saw him, but sometimes the balcony lights and the lights in the upstairs landing would turn on during the night or when we were gone. A little spooky, but the Captain never seemed to be malicious, so we gradually became somewhat fond of him, and were grateful to have the honor of living in his beautiful old home.

lights seem to besomething that happens with paranormal activity. A doctor died in my granparents house, before it was turned into one huge house, it was an apartment. Anyway, when my grandmother lived there by herself, we sealed off the upstairs so that the heat would stay downstairs...anyway, the lights would go on and off up stairs after it was sealed.

I live in a house where my mother-in-law, whom i never met, died suddenly from a blood clot. We moved in several years later and on occasion we here noises and I have investigated some of them but never found any. A few times I have felt like someone was watching but never had any proof. I might try a haunted house stay just for the experience.

Our town is so boring I think even the ghosts have left!! Actually there are a few ghost stories around even though I've seen nothing. The theatre of course always seems to be a popular haunt for ghosts in any town, ours included. Several indian ghosts out by Lake Superior. Little Girl's point and Dead Man's drop are two points named for such things. Girls dormitory in Ashland. Paulding lights in Watersmeet-about two hours east are quite famous-been there-done that. One of the bars in Hurley is said to be haunted. Place can never stay open for more than a year before some kind of paperwork hassle shuts it down till a new owner buys it. My house has no ghosts that I have seen or heard even though it was built in 1898. Will let you know if things change.
