Compared to those of you 'over there' it's positively cold here!! I live less than half a mile from St Andrews 'East Sands' (the North Sea) and get the cooler sea breeze coming in - last week it rained quite a lot but over the weekend it wasn't so bad, Saturday was beautiful and Sunday cloudy but dry - today is promising to be a beautiful day with the blue skys and sunshine - it's been approx 20 to 24 degrees at the max.

Well it is kind of warm here. It is between 104-107. It was 114. yes, I know. We have dry heat but a person can die very quickly of dehydration and heat exhaustion or stroke. Those of you around the country who are having a heat wave and not used to this heat, be careful!!

Changing. There's a storm in the Gulf, and we get repercussions up the whole east coast. So it's cooler, and breeding a thunderstorm.

I've been watching the Scottish weather daily for over a year (the BBC weather page for the Highlands and Islands has been my home page):

http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/ukweather/nscotland/

and the temperature hasn't gone higher than the 60s Fahrenheit for many weeks now.

Sigh -- why am I still in New York? sad.gif

Rindy, I am so sorry to hear about your fires! I know it must be so upsetting. We get them here a lot too, but they are always lightening strikes that sets them off. I hope all is doing better now.

We are pretty warm here in the desert. Still in the triple digits. We had a huge storm yesterday morning which produced floods and one of my dogs going total berserk! unsure.gif rolleyes.gif

Cloudy, low sixties this morning. Feels tremendous! Like early fall already, although I know we'll get more warm before it's over. The aggressive little sparrows we have around here are all puffed up like featherballs -- this spring's brood isn't used to the chilly mornings yet. I saw one of them cadging crumbs off his mom, who is actually smaller than he is -- they park themselves in front of the parent bird and flutter their wings rapidly, which seems to trigger a feeding response. Get a job, ya little bum! It hasn't started getting really cold yet! smile.gif

It's been nice, cool and clear out here in Chicago, but that may change this weekend if we get any of the remnants of Ernesto like they say we might. It is weird to see a weather pattern moving east to west, isn't it?

The last couple of days here have been a relief. Not near the amount of humidity as usual and we actually have a breeze.

Nice and cool this morning, around 51 degrees. Chance of some showers, but it's pretty clear this morning. Going into town with the wife and our girls. There's nothing like Gallup, New Mexico, on a Saturday! (And that's probably a good thing!)
