I am most happy to have been offered the opportunity to act as a moderator here in the Historical Archives by Celtic Radio.
I would like to start new subjects about different events in history. Some of you have a good knowledge of history and I think it would make this topic very interesting for the ones who are fans like myself about history.
This forum will be to discuss any historical events,it could be about the famous battle of the Boyne or the events that lead to the signing of the Magna Carta to the construction of the great wall of China or the conquest of the east by Timüjin (the great Genghis Khan). Or anything about history itself.
I think it would be interesting in discussing these many events and stories , sharing the knowledge and also debating on it.
I invite all of you fans of history to start any topic you would like to discuss.
Thank you all. Lady of Avalon

My Lady of Avalon;
You must be psychic as you read my mind and beat me to the punch. This is an excellent topic for this forum and I will be more that happy to post in it and share my limited knowledge with you or anyone else who wishes it.
I have been reading a little about Col. Anne MacKintosh. She was the only female to ever hold military rank in Scotland back then. Her husband was a Brit. officer (Black Watch?) at the time when she called out the Clans. This in an attempt to put Prince Charlie back on the Scot Throne. The attempt was unsuccessful and because of her husbands British connections she survived. It was a very traumatic time and many left Scotland to avoid death because of the loss! I have some bits and pieces relating to the battle and aftermath that I will track down. Of course My "sept" appears to have been in the middle of it all. I would be interested in any information others might have.
