Earth Hour Today!, Help save the planet - for a wee bit!

On Saturday, March 29, 2008, Earth Hour invites people around the world to turn off their lights for one hour – from 8:00pm to 9:00pm in their local time zone. On this day, cities around the world, including Copenhagen, Chicago, Melbourne, Dubai, and Tel Aviv, will hold events to acknowledge their commitment to energy conservation.

This event appears to be catching fire. The Earth Hour website has not been available since early this AM when major websites such as Google and CNN began linking to it:

For myself and family, we plan on getting a few candles today and turning the TV and lights off for an hour while we endulge ourselves in a few board games.

Here is a video from You Tube about the event. Maybe this should be a national or world event for next year. Conservation is going to be the only way we extend the planet's resources - there is just no argument with that and this looks like an event that might even bring people together for a common cause:

I greatly appreciated you posting this topic on Earth Hour. It is a shame it has received so little attention in the US . Hopefully , next year we will be alittle more aware and willing to participate in this event.

Earth hour is a good idea, one that carries the Blessing of Druids so it is my pleasure as the Chief Druid of the Oak Grove of Arkansas to post this site with a Blessed By Druids seal.
