My dear friend...Your analogy is brilliantly written and so true. The world seems so blind to the threatening black clouds that loom just above filled with extreme hatred by those who are bent on world dominance through the indoctrination into their extreme Islamic beliefs whereas by means of fear, cold blooded murder and assimilation they intend to win their ultimate jihad. When is the Western World going to wake up? These so called Muslims are everywhere and are waiting patiently...planning and have been acting out their aggression. Everyone who is not muslim/moslem according to the Koran is an infidel and an enemy of Islam!!!! When you hear that Islam is for peace...think again...If you believe this then may I suggest that you go and study the Koran for yourself and then you'll get an eye-opener.
These extremists and those who follow the Koran literally look at the Western world and its freedom, liberty and different brands of democracy as evil and from the devil. They hate our freedom...the freedom that our women have to make their own choices...freedom of religion...freedom to pursue justice justly...freedom to elect our political officials...freedom to voice our thoughts and ideas through written and oral communication. They reject the van Goghs, the Jungs, the Piccasos, the Margaret Thatchers, the Rodans, the Spielburgs, the Anthony Hopkins, the Churchills, the Mozarts, the Rock and Jazz musicans of this world...they hate and reject all free thinkers! When will the world wake up???? And stand up to this irrational hostile hatred and say enough is enough.
They naysayers who say, "Oh, you are over dramatizing the situation...there is no real threat of terrorism." Or the other intelligent people who claim the American government crashed our own planes into the Two Towers in N.Y. and the Pentagon in D.C. to kill over 3,000 of their own citizens so they could go to war are like the same people who said that over 5 million Jews weren't genicide by Hitler and the Nazis.
Over 500,000 people thrown into mass graves found in Iraq isn't that big of a deal, bloody torture chambers and people afraid to fight back is no great consequence...right?
Just like Stalin...Hussien was a nice guy...right? Especially when he was lining the pockets of the heads of the U.N., France, Germany and Russia with Oil for Food money...what is 80 Billion Dollars in their pockets when supposedly the children of Iraq were starving and suffering because of the U.S. back sanctions? Now we can see that these leaders weren't being led by their morals and principles of diplomacy and peace when they stood against the United States, the United Kingdom and the rest of the Coalition who wanted to make Sadam Hussien be held accountable by the U.N....do you think greed was the determining factor??? No, only ignorant people would come to those conclusions...right?!

This why I can never vote for John Kerry! Read this true story from a Vietnam Vet WHO IS NOT A SWIFT BOAT VET! I was moved to tears.

"Wounds That Never Heal"
Claim: A wounded Vietnam veteran bought a full-page ad in the Army Times.
Status: True.
Example: [Lehtinen, 2004]
In 1971, I awakened after three days of unconsciousness aboard a hospital
ship off the coast of Vietnam. I could not see, my jaws were wired shut,
and my left cheekbone was missing, a gaping hole in its place.
Later, while still in that condition at St Albans Naval Hospital, one of my
earliest recollections was hearing of John Kerry's testimony before
Congress. I remember lying there, in disbelief, as I learned how Kerry told
the world that I served in an Army reminiscent of Genghis Khan's; that
officers like me routinely let their men plunder villages and rape villagers at will;
that "war crimes" committed in Vietnam by my fellow
soldiers "were not isolated incidents but crimes committed on a day-to-day
basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command."
Then Kerry went to Paris, meeting with the North Vietnamese enemy
officials, all while our soldiers still fought in the field. The pain and
disbelief I felt listening to his words went deeper than the pain I felt
from the enemy fire which seriously wounded my face.
Eighteen months later I was discharged from the hospital, the wounds
inflicted by the enemy fully healed. But more than 30 years later, the
wounds inflicted by John Kerry continue to bring pain to scores of Vietnam
veterans. Those wounds ? the bearing of false witness against me and a
generation of courageous young Americans who fought and died in Vietnam ?
are much more serious than any wound warranting a Purple Heart.
Those wounds go to the heart and soul. Those wounds never go away. Today,
my son is a Marine Corps weapons officer, flying the F/A 18 Hornet. He
belongs to the same Marine Corps Kerry ridiculed with his 1971 book cover
showing protestors simulating the Iwo Jima Memorial, raising an upside-down
American flag. He flies the same F/A 18 fighter jet that Kerry voted
against in the U. S. Senate. And today, Kerry's picture hangs in an honored
place in Saigon's war museum, as a hero to the Vietnamese Communists.
Yet, John Kerry shamelessly drapes himself in the imagery of Vietnam,
military service and the support of veterans, devoid of any media scrutiny.
Meanwhile, the criticism and disapproval of Kerry by scores of veterans
continues to fall on deaf ears. Worse yet, any legitimate criticism of
Kerry's post-war record is discredited as a "personal" attack, or an attack
against his service. John Kerry is quick to surround himself with a handful
of veterans and claims overwhelming support from the veteran community. He
ignores, however, the wounds he inflicted on millions of veterans, and he
refuses to sign a waiver to release his military personal records and
medical records. This is the portrait of a man who has failed to comes to
terms with his treacherous past.
I, Dexter Lehtinen, paid for this ad personally, without any connection to
other individuals or groups, because I want the public to know what John
Kerry did to our Vietnam veterans.

is married to U.S. Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen of Florida.
Mr. Lehtinen paid to have his letter run as a full-page advertisement in
the 6 September 2004 editions of several armed services newspapers
including the Army Times, a fact which we verified with the Editor in Chief
of that publication: That ad appeared in the Sept. 6 editions of Army
Times, Air Force Times, Navy Times and Marine Corps Times, on page 45, I

urian thanks for the brief review of "Ladder 49". Now I know I'm going to see it.
I recently went and saw "Vanity Fair" starring Reese Whitherspoon. Yes...it's a "chick" movie, but an intellectual chick movie. I really enjoyed the story based on the book entitled "Vanity Fair". Reese Whitherspoon is a wonderful actress. I have to admit a guy wouldn't last 20 minutes in this movie. It left the theatres and now you'll have to rent it to see.

Hello Allen,
I am so glad your daughter is able to start school and begin to start on the road of healing. One thing I know for sure is that you are a man of great faith. The Lord will be your help in time of trouble. (and hasn't He been these past few months, eh??) You are a walking testimony of God's goodness and grace!
My suggestion is everynight when your daughter is a sleep is to bath her in prayer. Maybe just go in her room and pray as the Holy Spirits leads. And also pray with her before she goes to bed---Allow her to join in the prayer with her own concerns and fears. Next, the Lord showed me to do this for my own son when he was having a hard time in school and in his life in general---I quit focusing on his problem and started taking a greater interest in him and the things he liked to do. I took him to a few music concerts and out to eat---just me and him. I invited some of his friends to tag along on some of our outtings. Oneday we played hooky (skipped school and work) and went into the city for a field trip. These things helped him feel better about himself and also helped him let his guard down and he finally opened up to me.
I know you have to follow the orders of the officals concerning your daughter, but you can help her on your own as well. I hope these suggestions give you some ideas and help. I'll keep your family in my prayers.

Hey Rose, I'm or should say I was a big Highlander fan. I enjoyed the two movies, but loved the T.V. series. Adrian Paul---what a hotty!!!!   He gave the character Duncan Macleod depth or maybe it was the script and his acting that did it. Oh well, I miss watching the show. |

I really have missed you guys too!!!
I've been really busy with church, work and my three children these days. I hardly have time to even check my e-mails anymore. I want to give more time to my Highlander family---so here I am.
I'm in leadership at my church. I head up the fundraisers and events for the church, not to mention youth leader assistant and I work on the altar prayer team. But what has really turn my life upside down is I've been getting up at 5:30 a.m. six days a week to go power-walking with friends. I've been doing this for about a two months now. We walk about 4 miles six days a week, and on Tues, Weds and Saturdays, I do an additional one hour pilates and weight training routine on my own. As you can imagine, for a night owl this new found way of living has destroyed my night life. By at least nine everynight I pass out from total exhaustion. My mind said stay up, but my body would pass out. I think my body clock is starting to level out, and I'm finally adjusting to this new routine.
Well, I hope this explains where I've been---Busy!
Right now I'm riding out Hurricane "Ivan". We decided to stay home. Everyone we know has decided to leave. Were getting calls from people who left 5 hours ago, who haven't got as far as what would usually take only an hour and a half to reach by car. We only have three hurricane evacuation routes to leave the New Orleans area. So right now it's bumper to bumper traffic on every major highway and on both roads that lead to our two major bridges.
Please pray for us.

I voted yes...because abstinence should be taught to our children just as we should teach them it is wrong to steal, murder and lie. It is a moral issue, eventhough everyone doesn't obey the laws we still have to teach right from wrong.
I had the imfamous talk with my son when he turned 12. Yes it was a bit hard the first five minutes, then we started to dialogue. You have to listen to your kids and how they feel, but at the same time you need to make sure that you are communicating with them and not just preaching or dictating at them. My son is now 14, and we just had another talk about sex and the temptations young men face today (believe it or not). I told him about his personally responsibility to himself and to God. I also told him that the decisions he makes to today will affect the rest of his life. In addition, I told him that God has a destiny for his life and to make sure before he makes any life changing decision to pray and make sure he is doing what he knows God wants him to do.
In my opinion, to allow the schools to give our kids sex education without the moral dialogue and laying out the moral consequences is very dangerous. Your giving the children the blueprint for sex without the manual. Parents need to take their responsibilities of parenting their children serious---do the job God gave you to do! Quit waiting on the government or some non-profit to do it for you! |

Absolutely beautiful urian!!!
I've fiddled with graphic design as art, but wondered if could actually be condsidered "real" art.
At university, I've taken a few layout and design classes and a graphic design class under the Visual Arts program...I really enjoyed it.
You've inspired me to take a second look at graphic design as a medium to express myself artistically. Thanks.
