Just wondering if anyone has info about Clan McDuff. So far my dad has managed to trace our surname back to a sept of Clan McDuff, using the spelling 'Creich'. According to what I've found, sometime between 1200and 1400 (I don't remember exactly when), Clan McDuff built Creich castle in what became Creich parish, in Northwestern Fife. We've traced a link back to Richard Creich in the early 1600's, although about 100 years before him there appears to have been some dishonor come to the clan and I'm not sure where to look for more information to cover this period. The stories seem to list no names for some 70-100 years.

The Clan MacDuff Society of America http://www.tartans.com/official/MacDuff/usa/ should have useful information.
