hmm, a 5 hour trip each way, + rather steap admission... Then add gas and lodging for at least one night... hmmm.. It'd be a good all weekend trip. Not sure if I'm up for spending that much on a weekend trip right at this time. Thinking about it. Might be good to plan on for next year though. As much as I'd heard of these games, I thought they were closer.

laugh.gif The Highland Games on Grandfather Mountain were my first introduction to Celtic music and I will never forget it even though it was about 200 years ago.

Man! I wish I could go to all of these gatherings! Donning the kilt and spending the day with like minded folks- enjoying the athletics and the various booths and activities!

Too far to travel for me- but my heart is there.

Cool book- I love fantasy fiction- especially about the celtic races! Is it available from Amazon?

darn, I would love to be able to go. Hubby and I have a trip planed to Wisconsin to visit his sister in July. But alas, my heart will be there with my celtic brothers and sisters. I haven't been at Grandfather Mt but have been close by in Linville, and when I was on the BlueRidge Parkway the view was fantastic...
