Seriously, I voted for the heavy athletics because that is where most of the field events for track and field competitions started.

May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
Well....the music wins by a hair! But if I could have voted a tie, the hairy legs would have been right up there! Doesn't matter whose tartan they are wearing, I just like those men in kilts. There were definently some men in kilts at the Williamsburg games yesterday! WHOO-HOO!!!!

If age is a learning experience, I should be a genius by now...

Just to show that I read all your posts very closely......
Whiskey with an 'e' is Irish, Whisky without an 'e' is Scottish...
I never knew that. Thank you!
Does one make you more drunk than the next?
It's just become the conventional way of differentiating between the products of the two countries.... It's silly, but it is something that always sparks a debate on other 'Scots' boards I visit!
I think US bourbons may use the Scots spelling, although I can't be sure as I would only drink them when I was really desperate for a drink!
I have to admit that I quite like the occasional Irish whiskey....
I'm with Scottish2 on how to learn which one makes you drunkest, quickest
Here's how I tell 'em apart....Whisky should be neat, and whiskey goes in coffee, with whipped cream! (but watch out for those whiskys that taste like someone set a peat bog on fire and then put it in a bottle, you always wake up on the floor after those!)
Greetin's all, There ia nothing so moving as at being at a Scottish Tattoo! Amazing Grace always makes me cry. Although I do hear the pipes for 3-4 days later... it's like replay for me, ha ha! Guess you have to love it. Annabelle
I have left instructions with my next of kin that at my funeral mass, I want "Amazing Grace" to be the recessional. It is to be played by a solitary bagpiper in full regalia, and the bagpiper is to lead the party out.
