I'm starting this for humor and customer frustration outlet.
I think that anyone who understand and works on computers needs a place like this biggrin.gif

For instance;

Had a cutomer of mine call me, he wanted help sending a picutre over e-mail. He was asking me what the address was, and I told him, told him how to add the picture to the body of the e-mail, then he sent it.
But it came back undeliverible.
He was doulbe checking the e-mail address (we have a long domain), he told me what he had, it was correct, then he said he would spell it out back to me.
That when I found where he went wrong, instead of putting
Office@.........
He had typed
Officeat..........

Its funny, and I know what you mean biggrin.gif . I have several customers who try to install memory into PCI slots and they keep telling me it will not fit, huh, go figure. laugh.gif This happens about 15 to 20 times a month.

this is a little off topic as one of my jobs where I work is tech on sound reinforcement equipment.

The problem I run into is sort of the opposite as some different types of cable will plug in interchangeably and people that don't know the difference between a shielded cable and twin lead type will call and then argue the point with me when I figure out their problem. I get,"well the plug fits" I might ad that these are not consumers but the people selling the product in the stores as I work on a wholesale level rolleyes.gif

If the plug fits... laugh.gif Isn't that the truth. They try to cut corners whenever they can. It is real funny when they think they are smarter then you. tongue.gif

When I was in the Army I did user support. I got this call more than once:

User: Sergeant, I can't get my document to print.
Me: I hate to ask, but is your printer turned on?
User: Yes.
Me: Just humour me (I got to be known for that phrase), just reach around the back and check the switch.

These were dot matrix printers that made a very distinctive sound then they started. Of course, I would hear that sound.

User: Ok, it's printing now. Thanks!
