That would be "The Road to Perdition", which was filmed here in the Chicago area.
I've been housesitting for my folks while they're out of town. They have Comcast Cable with "on demand" programming. You can watch certain movies & tv shows. Last night, I watched my favorite Ewan McGregor movie, "Trainspotting". Tonight, it was "The Bourne Supremacy".

Has anyone seen The New World with Colin Farrell? Its not out here yet but I was curious to see what you guys thought.

I thought A New World was released in December. My youngest daughter and her hubby have been talking about going to watch it, but it wasn't showing in our local theatres. I did a Google search, looks pretty interesting...Wasn't Colin Farrell in a drug rehab center lately?
My kids and a friend saw that movie and they liked it. So for a teen and preteen to like a history type movie, it must be good.
I really do not get out to see many movies; I usually watch them on starz or buy the DVD if I really like it. I figured it is cheaper than paying for 5X movie tickets!
You would need a 2nd mortgage if you bought pop and popcorn!
You got THAT right!! When my husband and I went to see 'Fun With Dick and Jane' it cost us $9.00 each just to get in! We were going to get drinks and some popcorn but thought, nooo we don't want to go broke totally here.
Gee whiz! And the higher-ups wonder why attendance at movies has gone down.

Had seen Braveheart before but this time I experienced it. The heart and soul of William Wallace shone brightly as he fought for the freedom of Scotland and of his kindred, unwilling to compromise his convictions, even to the death. He gave his all for what he belived in. His love for his homeland and its people endure even to this day.
Should we not all be Bravehearts and stand with unwavering conviction and courage, willing to give our all for what we belive in?
I'm with you ballydun - only for kids movies or on the rare occasion that I say...hey I really want to see that and not wait for the dvd!
Last night I watched the dvd "Doom" which was not my sort of movie but my date for the evening really wanted to watch it. So...besides seeing the Rock with no shirt on...umm...no thanks...I didn't even know it was based off of a video game...not being a game player any way...so...if you like the video game...I am told you will like the movie...It did have Carl Urban in it who was in many episodes of Xena and you will recognize his gorgeous face from TLOTR...
I rented King Arthur.. I had seen it before and I have the book. I enjoyed this movie again so much its well worth a 2nd or 3rd time. It just wasn't your same old every day King Arthur..it has some major battle scenes..and I must say some wonderful stuntmen/warriors/swordsman.
this is very silly to admit to but when one is desperate.......the 1st season of the partridge family...were we evr that young????the songs were so innocent and goofy

Watched Under the Tuscan Sun and loved it. Really loved it.
We too have Netflix and am finding it way cool.
Recently we watched Meet the Fockers and thought is hilarious. Didn't see Meet the Parents. I've read that one was better, but Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Striesand were too funny.
Ladies in Lavender is supposed to come today. Hopefully will be a good one.
In the theater we saw Chronicals of Narnia. Went for my son's 8th birthday. Think 9 bucks is expensive, try taking a family of six and buying popcorn. It is really just too, too outrageous.
Partridge Family? Wow I watched that without fail as a kid. Wonder what it's like to watch now. Remember when Laurie (Susan Dey) got braces and radio reception at the same time?

Compassion is the sometimes fatal capacity for feeling what it is like inside somebody else's skin. It is the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too. - Frederick Buechner
If society prospers at the expense of the intangibles, how can it be called progress?

I do ... and I also remember that my girlfriends and me ALL have been idolizing David Cassidy ... seems like that was in another life, so much time has gone since, eh?

Elspeth, I haven't heard of Ladies in Lavender. What is it about? Has anyone seen Nannie McPhee? My kids want to go but if it's not any good I don't want to pay for it.

It's a kind of darker version of the old Mary Poppins theme. It was raved about in Great Britain, very popular. It doesn't seem to have gotten enough publicity here for some reason. The trailers were terrific though. I'm finally getting the chance to see it this weekend, and I've really been looking forward to it. I love Emma Thompson in anything.
