Celtic Radio Community > Gathering of the Clans > How Do I Find My Clan? |

My great grandfather David BRAND came from Greenock, Renfrewshire. I have the BRAND line back through Perthshire and before that, Fife. I have searched (and searched) the internet trying to find what clan, if any, the BRAND family belonged to. I would be very grateful if someone could let me know. thanks Libby Australia |

Hi libgra I looked at several sites and I couldn't find a Clan association for the name Brand. This is not unusual. I once read that 75%of the Scottish population was not associated with a Clan. I'll check with a friend of mine and see if she can find anything and I'll let you know. |

Hi Libgra, I checked and could not find a specific clan ,you might try checking if any of your family served in the 49th Highland / Blackwatch .That would give you at least a tartan . Try using variations they could be from Wales or even Viking at the very begining.Good Luck and Merry Christmas. |
