Here is a good place to start your research:

http://andromeda.rutgers.edu/~jlynch/18th/history.html

I have other links if that one does not help.

Hey irishmik, from what I understand they have a lot of F&I re-enactmenta where you live or pretty near. One good place to check and ask is this link as well. You'll see why. Hope this helps as well. If not, ask away.

Ok, we have another re-enactment opportunity here in Arizona. It is in July this year and at the Flagstaff Celtic Festival. It is a two day event. You can be part of the 1745 Jacobite Society and make like-minded friends. here is the link to the info:

http://www.nachs.info/flagstafffestival.asp

Also, our group had to apply for insurance in order for the organizers to allow us in. Some of you know that re-enacting can be a dangerous hobby. You have black powder and canons that could potentially harm folks. Most organizerrs will not even allow you to participate anymore without you having your own insurance.

We found being under the umbrella of the American Civil War Society provided us the cheapest and best insurance. It is $25.00 a year. It also affords you to participate in any era of re-enactment. For those who are interested in re-enacting in Arizona, let me know and I will get you the application for the ACWS. smile.gif
