This is a test to see if I can get the pictures to show up here!

"The Radio Lady" is what everyone at the festival called Annabelle

This was the first time I had ever met Charlie Zahm. He is a very gracious and entertaining fellow. Along with Tad and Marc his music is very heart warming and inspiring. It was a delight to meet such a nice person.

Treat yourself to attend a festival he is appearing at so you may enjoy his humor and entertaining manner. His CD's are such a joy to listen to but he, Tad and Marc are worth a trip to see!

Thanks again Charlie,
Annabelle

Lady E,

rumor has it, Charlie will be a free man soon. Get ready ladies!! I over-heard a few women talking at the fest and they were discussing that very issue. gossip.gif

As for how tall he is, I'm 6'2" and had to slightly look up at him, so I'm figuring he's 6'4" or 6'5".

Charlie is just a nice person. I don't inquire into a person's private life. Enjoy the personality and if a person wants to disclose that it will come with time. I never ask those things!

I would think it would make the person being asked uncomfortable if they were asked are you married? So when we go next year don't ask anyone or I'll have to bring the duct tape! And pulling it off is gonna really hurt!

Annabelle,

Thanks so much for posting the pictures. Now I have faces to put to names. Hehe. Just wanted to write and say that I missed not going to the festival. I've told my husband that next time we are going and if I have to bring the babies so be it. I'll just buy stock in Dramamine.

Hey Annabelle,
Looks like you had a fantastic time at the classic! We had a great time in Wildwood at Irish Weekend. Barleyjuice put on some fantastic shows. Still I missed going to the classic. Love the Tartan Terrors. Barleyjuice played after them at the PA Renn Faire last year. The Terrors were fabulous!

Also, just wondering if you have any info on to whom we should send a press kit for the Classic for next year? Wildwood was fun but Barleyjuice would love to stay home and play in Bethlehem next year.

Slainte,
Nancy

Posted by: Annabelle 01-Oct-2004, 07:39 PM
Yes Nancy I have the guys name in my dayrunner at the office. I will post his name here tomorrow for you. Hope that will help. You will need to send a listing of where BarleyJuice has played in the last 6 months and a demo CD.

But there are pictures of me. Annabelle just wants to hog all the limelight!!

It's alright, Annabelle got to see parts of Pennsylvania she would have never seen, if I wasn't the tour guide. We will be posting some of those pictures to, just as general interest, in case Bethlehem is choosen as the 2008 site (which it should wink.gif ). We really needed an extra day, just to go around the area and explore a bit more to find more spots that could be of interest to some of the members, such as, the Crayola Factory, micro breweries, wineries, canal boat tours, Dorney Amusement Park, many State and Federal Parks, the Harley and Caterpillar Factory tours, coal mine tours, caves........much to do and see.

Oh, I love that first picture of you two in Bethlehem!! Thanks Mike! clap.gif

As to the party shot at the hotel, I recognise that small bottle on the left--it's a favorite at our house. My sister's fond of it, too. Annabelle, have you tried their Gourmet Sauce? (Did I ask you that once before? My memory is foggy today.) I didn't recognise the Wine labels, though, so could you fill me in? I'm always interested in trying new ones! I know you all had a blast!

3Ravens, I'm glad to see you, too!! Looks like you were really enjoying everything, too--I'm jealous. down.gif

Are there any more pictures??

laugh.gif Mike, did you bring all the Mondavi? (I'm running over to our favorite wine store tomorrow!)

Thanks!
K

Posted by: A Shrule Egan 03-Oct-2004, 09:42 AM
Karen, don't go into sticker shock when you go look for those, if you can find them. All of those Mondavi's are $80 and up. I said I was bringing special wines with me but only three of us got to try them.

You can find some nice Mondavi in the $25 range but even the $11-$13 range isn't bad. Stay away from the 1998 and 2000 Cabernet, not good years for California.

Posted by: Dreamer1 03-Oct-2004, 09:47 AM

One of the main reasons I go to the Bethlehem Classic and to the Winter Celtic Musicfest in Valley Forge every year, The Infamous Welsh Cookie Co. I buy enough to last for 6 months in the freezer, then go to the next show and stock up again.

Dave was washed out at the Kentucky Celtic Fest the week before Bethlehem because of the hurricane, so he brought all those cookies and the Bethlehem allotment and still sold out. 320,000 people can go through a lot of Welsh cookies.

I just found a recipe for those puppies. I think I'm going to give them a try.

Brian, the key to frying them properly, make sure you roll them out thinner then a quarter inch. Most receipes tell you a quarter inch or more. They never cook all the way through if they are to thick, then the outside burns.

Make sure you dry fry them to. Some people spray Pam or use butter on the pan and that changes the texture.

Posted by: Avonlea22 13-Oct-2004, 03:28 AM
Thanks for the tip! I'm not sure when I'll get to them because of the whole wrist thing. Hopefully soon though, because they sound yum!

Bethlehem is the best festival I've seen!!! If you don't come, you're a loser cause you are missing out on the best festival on the whole darn east coast! Now Sylvanus has a good excuse but you other guys, what's it take to get you guys moving!!!

I just hate to see everyone miss it cause I know in my heart you would have a kick butt time and never want to miss it from now on!!!

So try to come!

Terry, if you can get the time off from teaching, by all means ride your bike all the way to Bethlehem from Texas but somehow I think you will be to tired to enjoy the festival. Take the plane and have some fun with us. We'll pick you up. The hotel is five minutes away from the airport.
