HHS Mandate, Church vs State

I'm surprised that with all the stuff I've seen posted lately that I haven't seen anything about it in most of forums I go on. This may belong over in the politcal section. It so much a part of religion and politics that its placement was hard for to decide. In the end since I don't have access right now to the political forum I'll post here. Basically if you haven't heard whats going on if Obamacare passes it forces catholic and other religious institues to pay for various forms of various forms of birth control through the insurance companies. Various faiths believe that this goes agains what they believe and are not willing to pay for it. Hence the battle over the future of the schools, hospital, and organizations that are run by religious organizations. I keep up with the news over on Spirit Daily and the creative Minority report. Here's one vid that was posted about what's going on.

In a recent Sunday column in Catholic New World, Cardinal Francis George wrote that only three options will exist for Catholic institutions to avoid shutting down under the Obama administration’s HHS mandate: 1) secularize itself, breaking its connection to the church, her moral and social teachings and the oversight of its ministry by the local bishop, 2) pay exorbitant annual fees to avoid paying for birth control-inclusive insurance policies or 3) “sell the institution to a non-Catholic group or to a local government.”

Courious as to what other people here think. I think its about a combination of shutting down the voice of the faithful and a money grab myself. I keep up with the news over on Spirit Daily and the Creative Minority report. Here's one vid that was posted about what's currently going on:

Coouldn't agree with you more. I've been posting stuff ever since the Manhattan Declaration came out. But like I said its amazing the lack of discussion I see about it on so many different types of forums I go on. I thught there might be something in the here and another on another forum I go on, which also has a political section set aside like here, but there has been nothing. Even facebook has been pretty quiet about it which is really amazing with the amount of other causes that end up posted on my FB site everyday. Hopefully this bad dog gets put down. Out local goverment can't even keep our roads fixed properly so I sure as hell don't want them trying to take care of my health.

I can assure all that Catholics are not going to accept this and some of the other religions are supporting us. It is the beginning attack on all religion. Catholic churches in some of the Western states with substantial hispanic (Catholic) parishioners have seen standing ovations when the topic of passive resistance to the mandate was brought up. There was applause in my church. Interestingly muslims appear to have been given a pass due to sharia law. Only a male muslim has control of his wife. I will have to go back and look it up to find the page for that one. I got my copy when the initial publication became available and in slightly larger font, it was over 3,000 pages. Mandates, interpretations and xo's have more than doubled it's size now. I checked on an update and it is now over 7,000 pages. It needs to be indexed and made availavle as a PDF download. I expect the Catholic church will be back in force depending in part, on the outcome at the SC. I also would expect that the Priests and Deacons will do as in the past before some elections, and "offer" personal meetings to explain the church position on what/who is best for Catholics. The mandate will weigh heavily in those meetings.

My last priest was quite out going and we had many discussions about where the country/world is heading. Unfortunately the new one is quite reserved.

The "Seven Seals" is an interesting passage and I read it often.

I believe people of religion will stand for what they believe and we may see people standing up for their rights.

The Democrat Party changed from representing the people under Lyndon Johnson. Since 1962 the Democrat party has steady progressed to a more big government and socialist ideology. The Muslins were given an exemption to Obama Care. That exemption is on page 107 or 170 of Obama Care. Did you know that Obama Care will have access to your bank account, 401-k, IRA and any type of financial instructment that you have. In other words you will loose control of your finances.

Good thing all I have is a checking account with not much in it. Not fun living paycheck to paycheck but I manage. The fight still continues on. I'll post any new developments. Looks like it will be a close call in the Supreme court.

If you want to read an interesting book about revelation read "The Lamb's Supper by Scott Hahn. Interesting insights and good biblical interpretation. In the meantime I'm going to stock up on the oil and the wine.

It looks like Muslims are going to have a tough time with this one too. Seems they won't be exempt. But between now and 2014 who knows what changes will happen

Been trying to find a list of who is exempt. Apparent ly there are about 733 companies that will be or have already won exemption from Obamacare. Apparently the latest is McDonald's. There is a list but I'm having trouble locating it. This may be just another chain article.

I invested everything in metals in 2005 and 2006. There is nothing here for them get get their hands on. I too maintain low balances on my checking accounts. The problem with the HC bill is that it is now over 7K pages.Several medications that I took are no longer available. There is likely to soon be a download of the bill and an index. I brought that up and was told that it was in progress.
