Its the High Holy Day nothing but corned beef simmered in Guinness with cabbage,carrots,potatos, soda bread and cake for after. tis a Great Day. HAPPY ST> PATTYS TO ALL BE SAFE |

Did you know that it is an Irish American thing to do the corned beef? An old time true Irish dinner in Ireland would have been boiled bacon and cabbage. |

Actually tried to cook something from scratch and it came out all right! Wifey saw that I was in over my head, so she helped me put together a Shepherd's Pie. The only "cheating" we did n=on it was we used ground beef instead of ground lamb. I would like to try it with the lamb sometime. Honestly, it came out great! It was a lot more work than I expected (oh me on the microwave) but the result was quite tasty!! Sounds tasty! We just finished part one of making chorizo, not St paddy's day food I know but we love the stuff. |
