I get to see them in Regina!! I am so looking forward to it. I got into them a few years ago and they are one of my favorites (number 2 after Runrig). I saw them live for the first time at Loch Ness for Runrig's Beat the Drum last year. I was living in Denmark at the time and when I heard they were going to be that close, I knew I had to go. I didn't really know Runrig at the time but I had to go because GBS was there. Although they were only on stage for an hour, I was right up front and it was so AWESOME! I lived in Montana, US before and even though they played in venues that were a 6 hour drive away, I was always in the middle of finals or couldn't get off work, so I had to go 4000 miles to finally see them. But it was worth the trip.
The thing I am not looking forward to is driving from North Dakota to Regina Thanksgiving weekend. Please pray for good roads!

If you ever have the opportunity to go.....you must. Make it happen. They are a must see. It's an experience, the music, the band, the crowd, wonderful atrmosphere.
I am a happier person today because of it.

Well I was fortunate enough to see the Boys again this weekend up at Portland, Maine. Another great show and fun time. They are heading back up to Canada now to tour.

Alas, they'll never venture this far south. I sometimes wonder if my children and I are the only ones who would go, if they did. THEN, it'd probably be a night I had a pressing engagement AND too close to payday I'd be broke. Such is my fortune when it comes to concerts. sad.gif

Great Big Sea has become our favorite music, I think, when we listen to music. Highlander Radio turned me on to them five years ago when I first found HR.

My brother and brother in law just contacted me the other day and want to road trip it to see them in Montreal in March.
I got them hooked by bringing them to the GBS concert in Boston this past fall. We were so impressed by them we went to see them the very next weekend in Portland too. All of us big fans for life now.
Definitely worth making a special trip to go and see them somewhere.

Do I need a passport to cross the border now??? I got to get my act together.

Yipee, They are coming to my area Aug 1 at Big Top Chatauqua. I get to see them again. This festival is really starting to draw in the Celtic acts.

They'll be here in Montreal on the 20th of March at the Metropolis. We had the great pleasure of having Alan and Sean sit in with us last year after the Bob Gainey tribute.. Great people, down to earth, folks you'd want to invite to your next barbecue.

Great Big Sea has a excellent podcast it you get a chance have a listen. I learned something about Bob Marley I never knew. Anyhow they are a lot of fun and I hope we can here more of them here on Celtic Radio. "Light bulb going off for a podcast thread." Hey, May be this will be it.. What do all of you think?
To listen to their you have to go to [url=www.greatbigsea.com/]GBS[url]

Very entertaining.

Oh, I wanted to say I think it's great how they are leaving clues to find the concert tickets. They announce the clue on twitter. Kind of fun.
