I'm not sure about everyone else, but I did not like the date format. So we have updated the forum of the date to be easier to read like this:

05-Sept-2008.

Additional changes have been made to the date format to remove the time and seconds on preview pages, but to keep the date and time stamp on the actual posted message or email.
