We have been swamped with new music/CD's for Highlander Radio! Over the past 2 weeks we have added some 15+ new CD's to the broadcast. I won't mention all of them just yet (as I am still recuperating) but I had to mentioned that we received 3 CD's from the Wicked Tinkers! This group is awesome! - you just have to request some of their songs. I believe someone here in the forum suggested them, so we wrote last week and received their CD's today!

WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I log in and who do I hear? My GUYS! Tinkers doing the 'odd set'!! Did I not tell you? Thanks Paul, you have made my whole day in one song!! You are the BEST!!!!!!

Oh man Skootz! I'm sorry, just getting back to my old self. Well thanks for the big smooch. Big smooches always make ya feel better

Was it you that recommended the Wicked Tinkers? Thank you very much - they are my new favorite group. Everyone, keep the recommendations coming in.

We wrote directly to the Wicked Tinkers (something so far we have shyed away from) and they provided us with 3 of their CD's. So if we get more recommendations we shall do the same.

Wow to just send 3 cd, just because, you told them they were requisted.  I guess the Tinkers aren't so Wicked after all.  The rate A1 alright in my book.

If you think the Tinkers are great on CD, you should see them in person. I've been watching them at the San Diego Scottish Highland Games for years, and they never fail to provide a great show. They perform all over the west coast of the U.S. Check out their performance schedule at http://wickedtinkers.com.

You don't know who the Wicked Tinkers are until you see them live. Lots of fun! Their CDs are cool, but but not half of what you get in person!

WHOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! The Wicked Tinkers are my favorite band! I have two of their CDs! I am going to see them LIVE next month at the Scottish Highland games up in northern Arizona! I cannot wait! Thank you, thank you Paul! A big smoooooooooooch to you!

If you enjoy their recorded music --- you will be blown away by their live performances. They are in Flagstaff July 17 for the Highland Festival. If you cannot go to that one -- you need to find them soon. You will be amazed!

For those of you fans of the Wicked Tinkers, here is an update on them. Apparently, they have lost Wayne who plays the Irish bronze horn. So they are in the process of finding a new band member. Here is their website with the news and an update on their tour schedule! I hope to see them in July!

WOO HOO! I saw these guys perform LIVE this past weekend at the Arizona Celtic festival! Their recordings just doesn't do them justice. You HAVE to see them live! They are just awesome and very personable, generous and kind to their fans. They haven't officially replaced Wayne. Right now they are just going to rotate between three didgeridoo players for awhile.

Also, their new CD was just released today.........Whiskey Supper! Yay! I hope Highlander radio gets it.

Here are some pics from the concert that I took. Hope you enjoy!

I guess I better listen up more for the Tinkers since Celticrose talks about them so much! Last time I was at Flag's Games, I missed them because I was working at the "Oatmeal Toss" but I remember all the young women heading over to their stage!

Posted by: CelticRose 12-Aug-2005, 04:31 PM
Yep! Plan for next year, Amy! wink.gif smile.gif

Posted by: CelticRose 21-Sep-2005, 06:11 PM
I finally got the new Wicked Tinkers CD, "Whisky Supper" all autographed by the guys themselves! I am very well pleased with the new CD. It is a live album and some songs are old and some are new.

I have a very high regard for Aaron as I think he is probably one of the best pipers around. They're still looking for a didgeridoo (sp?) player and using temp guys right now. And of course, those drummers are some of the best in the business too! Love watching Keith play! smile.gif

I caught them at the Pacific Northwest Highkand Games in Enumclaw, Wa this summer. What a great show! They really had the crowd going!

Hey Dogshirt! So glad you got to see the WT live! I always really loved their music...discovered it on here as a matter of fact. But when I saw them live, that was a whole total ball game! Great to have a fellow WT fan! Did you get a chance to see the photos I took of them from my last event with them? They are the absolute nicest guys!

I watched it, of course! biggrin.gif I had never heard of the Craig Ferguson show before! What a delightful Scottish accent he has! What a memorial he did for the recent passing of his father.

Anyway, the WT were delightful, as usual, and made me anxious to see them again this coming July! I already have my reservations! wink.gif thumbs_up.gif

CR, It's good to see you and I am glad you got to watch it. I had programed my vcr to tape it all I got was black fuzz but I did manage to get a clip of the memorial and I like this Ferguson.. but did not of get to see WT performance. Its good to know it all went well..

You lucky you-getting to see them again!!!

I missed them. Couldn't stay up, I get up at 4:30AM to go to work, and forgot to set up the VCR. But they play a lot here in the Northwest, so I will see them live again. Live is better, but I'm glad to see they got some National exposure, even if it was in the 1:30AM slot. GO TINKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Rindy! Yeah, I had recorded it on my DVR and it came out good with the exception that my DVR shut off before it ended! sad.gif so I missed their last performance. I am sorry you missed it. I hear they are working on a concert DVD, so we hope that will come out SOON! wink.gif You know me! I am a major WT fan all the way!

Dogshirt! I am like you! I love seeing the WT live! Nothing like it. I first became a fan when I first started posting on this site several years ago, bought their CDs and such. But when I saw them live, that changed everything for me! I really got to see just even more how talented these guys are and love em! Last year I took about 172 photos of them. Wonder how many I will take this year?! laugh.gif I plan to see them at the Flagstaff games in July! I can hardly wait! Btw, Dogshirt. I can empathize! I used to get up at 4 am every morning to go to work! I did that for 20 years! Ugh! I feel for you! I hope this national exposure will give them the credit they deserve and much more!

Posted by: Dogshirt 02-Feb-2006, 07:55 PM
Good news today!!!!! Found out that we only have 2 more houses to build in this project and the we will be only 11 miles from home. I can sleep in till 5:30!!! OH THE LUXURY OF IT ALL! It will save on the $60.00 a week I'm spending on gass too! thumbs_up.gif

Posted by: CelticRose 06-Feb-2006, 05:33 PM
Hmmm, well I guess we will see. I may stand corrected. But Aaron of WT is the only American piper on the board of Glasgow, Scotland's piper's college now, isn't he? tongue.gif laugh.gif I will let you know what I think. wink.gif smile.gif

Thanks for the link!!!!! We became fans of the Tinkers when we saw them at highland games around Seattle. We moved to AZ last year and didn't get to any games down here. Now, we've missed them at the Mesa games but hope to catch them in Flagstaff. It will be odd seeing them without Wayne, but I'm sure the "new" didg player will do 'em proud. I think they've autographed every CD we've bought so far. (We still need to get Whiskey Supper.) They've always been warm and friendly when we've chatted with them after shows, and they even remember us from previous shows. I was back east for a wedding and missed the Bellingham games two years ago, and they actually asked my husband where "the wife" was. How many bands remember fans they only see once or twice a year? It will be funny to see if they recognize us way down here. "What are you two doing in the desert?" LOL

Let me add an "Amen!" to the advice to seek out a live show, too. I always enjoy watching the band interact with the kids in the audience. They get them up and dancing, lead them around the crowd in a parade.... Lots of fun to watch! One of my favorite photos, out of the scads that I've taken of them over the years, is from the Enumclaw games in '04. Warren had stopped in front of some kids sitting in front and let a girl whale away at his bass drum for a few bars. They're like that: they obviously have a lot of fun playing, and the audience gets carried away on the ride with them. And there's never anything wrong with watching a bunch of good-looking men in kilts having a great time!

Posted by: ChocolateFilk 10-Mar-2006, 08:45 AM
note.gif thumbs_up.gif Like so many have said, the Tinkers are really cool live. I have seen them many times at the San Diego Highland Games. I see I will have to pick up the new CD, have all the others.

Hey all! I hope y'all got to see the clip from the Craig Ferguson show.

Roisindubh! You live not too far from me. About 3 hours to be exact! It is beautiful country up there. I am an hour south of Pheonix. The Wicked Tinkers are no longer playing at the Mesa Highland games....boo hoo. So if you went to the event (and I was there) you missed them. However, several of us from here are going to see them in Flagstaff in July 15-16. Hope to see you there!

I saw them last year in Flagstaff and gave Rindy here a live feed and and sent her a WT t-shirt! hee hee! I have her Tinkerized too! laugh.gif

Hi all,
I just found out the line up of entertainment for the Northwest (Seattle) Highland Games, WHAT A LIST! The Tinkers will be there, Iona, Ed Miller, Alex Beaton and others. Looks like a great time. And of course the World's greatest pipe band Simon Fraser University! If you haven't seen or heard them they are GREAT! Any of you who are close enough to make it should come. Check it out at http://www.sshga.org/ Hope you can make it! thumbs_up.gif

Posted by: Dogshirt 31-Mar-2006, 10:47 PM
Annabelle, would that be the bronze age horn? I heard it at the PNW Highland games last year, very unique!
Yes I will be going again this year and will be glad to give a report and will post pictures as well.

Well, I know they have a new member named Jay Atwood. He plays both the didgeridoo and Irish bronze horn. He is wonderful too! He is not in my recent photo that I have in my sig, but I will be seeing the band in mid-July and hope to get new photos and post them here for all you to see! I SO love this band!

Rindy, glad you liked the time we spent on the phone and your t-shirt. Plan to do it again this year if you like! wink.gif

Posted by: loveofgage 11-Apr-2006, 09:28 PM
I used to look forward to the local highland games every year just so that I could see and hear the Tinkers. For about 5 yrs now I have loved to listen and watch these crazy men have a grand ol time. However, now that Wayne (the horn-ist (?)) is no longer with the group the spark seems gone. They just don't seem to have the same umph. The music is still great, but the experience is not anywhere near the same. Honestly they shouldn't have gotten rid of Wayne, he added an impishness to the band that is sorely missed by many here in Bakersfield.

Posted by: Rindy 12-Apr-2006, 01:37 PM
CelticRose, of course I would like it-don't need another shirt though!! lol Is there any word of a new cd coming out? How is the WT website going? Thanks for keeping us updated!

Slainte smile.gif

Posted by: CelticRose 12-Apr-2006, 06:15 PM
Hey there loveofgage. Well whatever happened to Wayne I am sure it left a lot of heartbreak for many. I never saw the WT live with Wayne in the band. I saw them afterwards and of course it was wonderful for me. It is always painful to see band members come and go, isn't it? I so hate it. But having grown up with musicians all my life, it is part of it I am afraid. I feel for you as it sounds like you had a wonderful experience and now very saddened by the loss. I know all too well how that feels.

For me, I look very forward to seeing them in July!

Rindy, no word on a new CD. They hope to be getting a concert DVD out soon though. the WT site is fine, but slow! Not sure why that is, but great people on there all the same. Personally, I don't care if there are 200 or 2 people as long as everyone gets along, act nice and respectful to one another! wink.gif

Posted by: AumShanti 30-May-2006, 07:50 PM
Interesting;
I was at the Bakersfield Games this year, and saw the Tinkers at the Ceilidh. I saw dozens of pierced and inked kids thrashing like mad to a band that they obviously love. I also saw middle-aged (like me) folks grooving heavily in their seats, and screaming along to "Wallop the Cat". I heard an incredible band (WTs) at the top of their game with a phenomenally talented didge player. Wayne was charming, no doubt. Impish, perhaps. But the new guy is twice the musician that Wayne ever was. The *spark* missing?! These guys were on fire! Don't know what show you saw.

BTW - does anyone know who the other young didge player that was invited up to play with Jay was? He was good too! Wonder if he'll play with them again.

Looking forward to seeing them again at Pleasanton this year!

A.S.

Posted by: CelticRose 08-Jul-2006, 07:48 PM
Hey A.S! You are going to see the WT at Pleasanton this year?! I am so jealous. I have a friend who lives near there and has invited me to join her at those games to see the guys. I will have to wait and see though.

I know that one of the didge players was Travis. He apparently moved to Hawaii and so I don't think he be playing with them again, but I really don't know. He is in the photo below in my sig. I knew there was a third guy, but I never seen or heard him.

In the meantime, I get to see the guys perform next weekend in Flagstaff and I can hardly wait. I hope to take many photos........again! tongue.gif biggrin.gif

Hi! I just wanted to say I heard from Celticrose and all is going well at the Wicked Tinkers concert..in Arizona... A large attendance....I will let her tell the rest of the story.... Thanks Celticrose- good talkin to you... thumbs_up.gif Can't wait for pictures and re-caps...

Haynes I am a wondering if you went?

Slainte smile.gif

Posted by: haynes9 16-Jul-2006, 04:50 PM
Indeed I did.

Sure wish I would have known who you were, CelticRose! My son and I had a good time at the festival overall.

The Tinkers are crazy, which I am sure is part of their appeal. But underneath all of that, these guys can really play. I was very impressed and found them to be very friendly in between sets.

Well worth a listen if you can catch them!

Posted by: Annabelle 16-Jul-2006, 06:58 PM
I have never seen the Wicked Tinkers cause I can never find them playing anywhere near me. When I see someone with their T-shirt on I sometimes stop the person and ask them where they saw them at and how long ago. One day....I'll get to see em!

Posted by: CelticRose 18-Jul-2006, 06:48 PM
Haynes! You were there?! I had NO idea you were there in Flagstaff. I wish you had told me so. did you come to our 1745 Jacobite encampment? I was all dressed in 18th c clothing. Perhaps you were watching the Wicked Tinkers perform as I was obnoxiously taking photos of them in front. I was the one dressed very oddly! LOL I made a lot of people mad when I was up there taking their photos, but I was only to be up there for a few minutes at a time to try to take good shots of them for our WT website. Unfortunately, with a point and shoot digital camera, you think you are getting a good shot and then that stupid delay time gives you another shot instead...so aggravating.

Weren't they terrific though?! They get better and better! I got to talk to Rindy briefly on the phone, which was awesome. I got to spend some time with ArizonaAmy and her family. I saw and spent time with a lot of internet folks, but dang it. I am so mad I didn't get to meet and see you Haynes. Next year tell me you will be there, eh?

I will be posting a new signature pic of them and me..soon! And their new forum if any of you would like to join.

I was totally impressed with Jay the new didgeridoo player! He is completely awesome as a musician and very personable to speak with!

I am all excited too cause the WT's are working on a new CD! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was great talking to you, Rindy. Thanks for giving the report for me! thumbs_up.gif

Posted by: Rindy 20-Jul-2006, 06:38 PM
CelticRose I love your new signature picture its great! I am glad things went well. Did you have doubts?? Someday I hope to see them in concert.. I bet they give one heck of a show.

A new CD in the works also...YES!!! Keep us posted on how things are going. Can't wait to see your pictures...

Slainte smile.gif

Posted by: CelticRose 21-Jul-2006, 06:33 PM
Thanks Rindy! It is still taking me awhile to load my photos on the shutterfly album. I have had so much else going on that I will try to sit down soon and post the pics. If you look at my personal profile photo, you will see both the guys and me in my 18thc outfit.....which hubby likes to affectionaly call it my "Mother Hubbard" dress! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

I am so proud of the pic of the guys in the sig photo. They were so accomodating and kind to me, as they are with all their fans. Such great sports as I am sure they get bugged A LOT!

I will keep you all posted on the new CD as I find out, unless the band members see this and post about it themselves! wink.gif I hope you get to see them live some time, Rindy. Their CDs are great, of course, but do not do them justice by seeing them perform live!

Posted by: haynes9 21-Jul-2006, 09:25 PM
As a matter of fact, we did see you! We were watching some of the game competition and your demo at the same time. I believe it was about 3:00 PM on Saturday.

We live about 135 miles east of Flagstaff. It was our first trip to the Highland Games, but it won't be the last.

And the Tinkers were great! Those boys can play. Very unique sound and they were really friendly at their tent.

Maybe next time we will plan to see you there!

Posted by: CelticRose 23-Jul-2006, 02:13 AM
Hello Haynes! We were indeed doing our demo at that time. I was mostly working at our camp as people would come in and want to know who the heck we were and why we were there! LOL Plus, they wanted to know about our artillary and stuff. I actually love being in the background. The only thing I like to be part of publically is during the opening ceremonial for the games. And that is only because our Jacobite group marches right behind the pipe and drum band leading the event. It was so emotional for me while the pipe and drum play the opening song "The Green Hills of Tyrol -- When the Battle of is O'er." I hope I got that right. Anyway, when our group march behind them, it makes feel like we just come home from a victorious battle! It is soooooooo awesome!

Anyway, back to the WT. From what I undestand they are in the "planning stages" of doing a new CD. so we hope for it SOON, eh?

Posted by: CelticRose 21-Nov-2006, 12:39 AM
I hope it is ok to post this. This comes from the most recent Wicked Tinkers' newsletter.

"The Tinkers have just finished up our 2006 season with an awsome day at the Celtic Festival, Orange County, CA!

What a great time!

Now we get a month or so off for the holidays - and are looking forward to spending some time in the Studio, working on the next CD!

Meanwhile - as we look forward to the 2007 season, I want to ask for your help.

Wicked Tinkers is looking for new games and music festivals to play around North America - Particularly on the East Coast or midwest. If you know of a folk/celtic music festival or Highland games in your area that you think would be a good match for Wicked Tinkers - we would really appreciate it if you would let us know about it!

Here's the deal. It has to be a large enough event to afford a professional band - so, as much as we'd LOVE to play your next party, it probably isn't going to happen unless you can fly us and our equipment there, put us up in hotels, and pay our performance fee.

(On the other hand, if you have a LOT of friends with money, that just might happen! - and if they're cute, please introduce us!)

We generally don't play pubs or bars. Not that we don't like to hang out in them ourselves (Lord knows, we do!) but imagine that you went down to the local pub for a pint and some conversation - and then the idiots with the amplified bagpipes and drums showed up. We can become quite unpopular quite quickly.

Also, clubs often want us to work for a part of the door, and that arrangement doesn't work well for us.

The exception to this is if they are a concert venue, and would like to book us as a ticketed event. We have had great success with this arrangement at O'Blarney's Pub in Lacey, Washington. Check them out at

http://www.oblarneyspub.com/welcome.htm

We book ourselves, so this is a real opportunity for you to be a part of our success! Your name will live forever in song and story! (At the very least, we'll mention you from the stage!!)

Cheers, and thanks!"

Recent newsletter from the Wicked Tinkers and 2007 schedule. They are working on a new CD and DVD...yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This following is from Warren Casey.

HI Wicked ones,

Happy New Year!

We are looking forward to seeing you all this year. Our first shows are coming up in just under two weeks. We will be on a short tour with TEMPEST in Hanford and Davis. It is our third year doing WINTER WONDERLAND TOUR. Ticket information is below. Hanford is a large theatre and you will be able to buy tickets at the door. Davis Veterans is a smaller theatre and buying your tickets in advance is highly advised. This theatre has sold out the last two years that we've performed there.

We are still waiting to hear from more games and festivals. When we book a new venue it will be posted on the web page: http://www.wickedtinkers.com/Wicked_Schedule.html In fact we have a few tentative dates up on the web page already.

NEWS:
We were featured as the entrance music for the Ultimate Fighting Champion "The Dean of Mean" Keith Jardine: http://meanjardine.com/index2.html. He was fighting in Las Vegas a few weeks ago and someone heard the music and sent us this link: http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=fighter.detail&pid=406 By the way, Keith won his match that day!!

Starting in February, we are going into the studio to work on the new CD #6. It is untitled. As soon as I know more-you will too.

Paul Desjarlais has posted a new video on Youtube. Paul is our good friend and film maker of our now-shelved WT DVD. He has a few of the excerpts posted on our Youtube page: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=wicked%2Btinkers&search=Search
and his Youtube page: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=BrotherOrangeFish

Paul Manchester, illustrator/author of our first comic book and designer of Wallop the Cat, is just about finished with the long overdue second comic book. It was just about ready a few years ago when we had a musician change. Paul has cut and pasted Jay into the new comic. Expect it out very soon. Here is his rather fun web site: http://www.wilwhimsey.com/

Thank you Celtic Rose. Are you going to be able to see them this year?

Posted by: CelticRose 14-Jan-2007, 04:29 PM
Absolutely and God willing, Rindy! I have already made my hotel reservations for Flagstaff July 2007! Hope Haynes did too...hint, hint! I need to check with him concerning that weekend. But he lives pretty close so he probably can drive and see it all in one day anyway.

I would also like to drive up and see them in Vegas, but kind of doubt that will happen.

Rindy, I am sure you received the above newsletter as well, but thought I would post it just in case others would like to know their tour schedule and recent plans for this new year.

Hello all. I had the great opportunity of seeing the Wicked Tinkers...my absolute favorite band...in July 2007. they were so gracious and kind as usual and even played for me in one of their sets my favorite song..."Green Hills of Tyrol." I was moved to tears that these guys would do this for me. Aaron knows this is one of my most favorite songs on the planet and the fact that he told me he would include it in their set at a certain time meant so much to me.

It wasn't the best of weather in Flagstaff on Saturday. It rained buckets on that day, but I managed to get to their 5 pm show. I don't feel that my photos are that great, but did the best I could given lighting, etc.

I was extremely sad that I could not see them before and/or the following day...Sunday. As many of you know, I participate in a "living history" group and we had much going on that weekend to prevent me from seeing the WTs as much as I wanted...boo hoo.

Here are a few photos I took. Nothing special, but glad to have them all the same. Better than nothing, eh?

Hi Celtic Rose,
What wonderful pictures.. Everyone is looking wonderful! That was so nice of Aaron do play that song for you. I am so sorry to hear that it rained so much. It all looks like it turned out ok. Their music is so much fun. I just love it. Thanks again for posting their picture, lucky woman you wink.gif

Hey! Thanks all! Glad you enjoyed the photos! They are working on their newest CD...to come out...not sure when. But I sure will let you all know as soon as I know!

Rindy, it meant so much to me that the WT's would play my most favorite song for me..."Green Hills of Tyrol." Aaron knew it was my favorite song and asked me when I could be at their performance and I told him a certain time and those guys did it! I was so moved. I so wish I could have gotten better photos, but given the weather (good excuse, eh?) I was not able to move around as freely as I have been able to do so in past years. But hey! I got to see them live! I only get to do this once a year and any of you who have only heard their music and like it....you HAVE to see them live to fully appreciate them! to get a peek at their tour schedule look at below.

http://www.wickedtinkers.com

DJ, didn't you think they were great?! We need to get these guys at more events in AZ!

I bought a new T-shirt that had "Wallop the Cat" on it. Y'all would have to listen to their music and attend their live performances to fully understand......which I so hope you all get to do!

Posted by: Donajhi 13-Aug-2007, 01:30 PM
I do agree with you they are great. The reason being that they interact with the crowd. They are down to earth and do not set themselves above everyone.
I was surprised to see them work their own stand at the gathering and engage all in conversation. They do not play the, 'I am better than you because we are stars".
And as you said, "Wallop The Cat" is something you have to experience. It can not be explained.

If you have any ideas how to get them to preform more in AZ let me know. I am onboard and will help however I can.

Posted by: CelticRose 16-Aug-2007, 04:55 PM
Yeah, they work their own stand every year. They are always so accessible to their fans. I just wonder what it is like up in the Pacific NW for them where they are REALLY popular. I bet one can't even get near their booth! I hope to experience that one day too as I love the Pacific NW and they play up there a lot!

Posted by: CelticRose 19-Oct-2007, 10:03 PM
Word up on the Wicked Tinkers. Their new CD is "84-1/2" finished! LOL Which means they hope to have it done now by the end of the year. I also heard they are selling Wicked Tinker jewelry at their booth now! What?! ohmy.gif I looked on their website for any, but not on there. But I hear they have necklaces of Wallop the Cat, or bagpipes and another a friend couldn't remember. But the pendants all say underneath "Wicked Tinkers." Will keep you posted on both as I learn, unless someone sees or hears before! smile.gif

Hey Rindy,

I still haven't had a chance to get either the new CAD CD or the Wicked Tinker's Christmas CD. Since the Wicked Tinkers will be performing at the Arizona Highland Games in Phoenix (first time in years) the end of February, I will probably just wait and get both the Christmas CD and their brand new CD called Rant at the same time.

For those of you who do not get the Wicked Tinker's email, here is the latest in regards to their new CD, posted by Warren Casey.

"RANT(our sixth CD) is almost done. The recording, mixing and mastering of the music is finished and I'm just completing the graphics. We should have the CD available sometime mid-February. You can check out a few tunes on our Myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/wickedtinkersmusic ."

Hey there Celtic Rose,

Your one lucky gal that gets to see the Wicked Tinkers again. I am looking forward to the new cd Rant. I bet the Christmas CD is fantastic. I hope you will keep us posted on how things are going. Again, thanks for posting this "I love the new song The Hog!"

I hope to buy both of their new CDs when I see them next month. Will keep you all posted on everything! biggrin.gif

Hello all who are either not Wicked Tinkers fans yet as you will most certainly be or those who already are. I had the delightful opportunity to see them perform this past weekend at the Phoenix Highland games. Of course, it was totally awesome for me and others.

Their new CD, "Rant" was just released. If I may be so bold to say, I believe it is their very best CD they have done yet! I love every single song on that CD and it is very seldom one finds a CD where every song is wonderful!

Hope you get it and enjoy it as much as I can. I will soon post their tour schedule so you all can see and hear for yourselves!

Message from Jay (didgeridoo, Irish horn player, percussion and keyboards)

Thought you would all like to read the following from Jay be in the know.

"To our friends and fans;

Making music with Wicked Tinkers is one of the great joys in my life!
Let's face it; this is the ultimate mid-life crisis job: driving
around the country with my friends, making music, hanging out with the
fans, and drinking fine Scotch whisky. It is a blast, to say the least.

I have been very fortunate to have spent most of my adult life making
a living in the music industry. Even currently, when I'm not on the
road with the boys, you may often find me in Las Vegas, playing
keyboards in the orchestras of such shows as Phantom of the Opera,
Spamalot, and most recently, the Cirque du Soleil spectacular, KA.

This is actually why I moved west from Boston in the first place; to
work in the Las Vegas theaters. Connecting with Wicked Tinkers was
just happy chance. What was supposed to have been a two-week
engagement has turned into a three year joyride, and I have enjoyed
(almost) every minute of it.

So now, after three years in Las Vegas, I find that I am getting more
and more calls to do shows here. Just recently, a potential career
path has opened for me within the Cirque du Soleil organization that I
can't ignore. The result of this is that I need to spend more of my
time focusing on the work here in town, and to make myself more
available to the Cirque producers.

In the coming year you will be seeing me less frequently at our
performances. I am and will continue to be a Wicked Tinker! I will do
as many of the festivals as I am able, but you are just as likely to
be seeing the incredible C.J. Henderson performing on didgeridoo and
bronze horn.

I can't say enough about C.J.! He is a great didgeridoo player, a long
time friend of the band, and one of the best guys around.. Just know
that this transition is made much easier for me knowing what a
wonderful addition he is to the Tinkers. From time to time, we'll even
share the stage, and I can't wait for those shows! He is already
family to us, and I know that you will welcome him with the same
enthusiasm that you have shown me.

Slainte!

Jay Atwood"

Wow! I am very behind in reporting on these guys, eh?

I had the pleasure of seeing them a couple weeks ago. Jay, who is now active in the Vegas music scene, suprised us by his appearance at the Phoenix Highland games. What a tremondous joy that was! The guys performance was incredible, as always. The new addition to the Wicked Tinkers, CJ Henderson, is an awesome musician and very personal to his fans. Of course I took a boatload of photos of the guys. I will try to upload them to my gallery here.

One can see their performance schedule on the Wicked Tinkers official site of www.wickedtinkers.com.

OMG; I saw the Wicked Tinkers for the first time in Costa Mesa at Scotfest; THEY ARE SOOO TOTALLY AWESOME, great performers, I had a blast, bought their new CD "Rant", also totally awesome. They are fun, they work the audience, and i would see them over and over forever!

I was introduced to Wicked Tinkers on CelticRadio and absolutely fell in love, they are so very talented and really know just how to entertain an audience. Less then a year ago, my son and I went to see Celtic Thunder, since then, my life has changed; in posting after that concert on myspace, I have met and been lead to places like CelticRadio of which I have listened and enjoyed groups like the all-talented, fun and definitely popular Wicked Tinkers. The music just makes you feel good and it is ALL I listen to anymore driving to and from work or whereever. When I found out that they were going to be at the Scotsfest in Costa Mesa, my dreams came true. They are absolutely fantastic, I had so much fun and was sooo entertained by their equisite talent, I will remember them forever and will undoubtedly be their number one Fan all my life. I love them. I never knew anything about my Scottish heritage until last year, this all has made it my number one priority to go to Scotland and Ireland early next year, plans are in the making. Their knowledge and expertise of the instruments they play give them that unique sound like no other. I will take every chance I get to see them again and again and hope them a long and successful career.

The Tinkers Rule!!!!!!!!!! To see them live is a true experiance. I have seen them the last three years at the Pacific Northwest Highland Games in Enumclaw, Wa. They are an anual performance and each year they are a HUGE draw! I would go to see them even if I didn't love the games!

These guys are awesome; first saw them at Scotish Fest in Costa Mesa, California, then again last year, even got my picture taken with them, they are HOT to say the least. They are fun and personable, see them in person, you won't have any regrets, buy their CD's, you won't be sorry. Their didgeridoo player CJ is excellent, its amazing what he can do, and Aaron, the BEST bag piper around. Anyway, nuff said for now; definitely at the top of my list!
