I have become a little older since I saw you last and a
few changes have come into my life--Frankly, I have
become a frivolous old gal.

I am seeing five gentlemen everyday. As soon as I wake
up, Will Power helps me out of bed. Then I go to see
John. Next, Charlie Horse comes along and when he is
here he takes a lot of my time and attention. When he
leaves Arthur Ritis shows up and stays the rest of the
day. He doesn't like to stay in one place very long, so
he takes me from joint to joint. After such a busy day
I'm really tired and glad to go to bed with Ben Gay.
What a life! Oh Yes, I'm also flirting with Al Zymers.

P.S. The preacher came to call the other day. He said
that at my age I should be thinking a lot about the
hearafter. I told him oh, I do, all the time. No
matter where I am--in the parlour, upstairs, in the
kitchen, or down in the basement, I ask myself--Now
what am I here after?

my great grandfather is good friend of Mr Al Zhymer. And it's sad when he doesn't recognise us anymore. He isn't even able to express himself clearly anymore.

Sorry to hear about that.

But thought this was sort of funny. Actually I got it from a good humored Senior. Isn't meant to offend anyone was just funny with the play on words and such.

Scottish, I work for a lady who is 93 years young! I should live so long! She laughs and teases and this sounds exactly like a poem she would write! Thanks for the chuckle!

I really think that it was funny, and I really like wordplays.

It is only sad to know that it is also reality.

But there are many great jokes which are based on reality. Just consider those scottish-english jokes. The scottish still don't like the english and they make jokes about it. It is the same the other way round. I like all those jokes but that doesn't mean that I have a general dislike for the english (though i'm thinking quite "scottish" in that matter).

I can also laugh about jokes made about Germans or jokes that are about me. They only have to be good.

This text also shows a great deal of sarcasm and I still think sarcasm is one of the best forms of humour, at least it's something I can laugh about.

That poem Scottish2 posted was a cutie. Talk about gold teeth, my husband's has gold teeth that belonged to a grandfather. You guess they would be worth any money?

They are a good conversation piece!

I have a friend who is about 85 years young and she is the best. She was one of the first to join the WAC's during WWII. I truly believe her and her husband had a marriage that was made in heaven. They were married for 61 years before he passed away. I don't believe I ever saw two people that were more devoted to one another than those two. You can learn alot from a a person advanced in years! Alot of times they can tell you family history you couldn't normally find out.

Yeah that's one of the first things I learned when I started reading books on genealogy was to talk to those who are living now. Records will always be there (Obviously providing no issues likes fire) but records will always be there so best to ask those living now while you can get all the help and info tto help add to your family tree. Stories are no going to neccessirily be found in records at least not the good stories those come from the living who actually experianced them for themselves and can tel\l it like it actually was.
