Happy to oblige, Jorge! Welcome to the message board. I live in the hills of WV in a little place with a population of about 75. It used to be a booming coal town way back when. Now it is like a wide spot on the side of the road.
Thank you Maggie, my skills with the English are poor, but I hope to be enought. I live in Buenos Aires, with 10 M. people. It´s a very "european" city. I work in a Satellite Teleport and I want to find info. about my ancestors. My English teacher, Maggie Cormick is in this Forum too.I´m trying to find something about the surnames related with me. Well, thank you for your kind repply and, have a nice day! Jorge Dewey
This is almost unbelievable for me! My grandmother was born in Buenos Aires!! Though she didn't stay there long, she came to the US when she was around 18. As far as I know, she never returned there. She opted to visit friends and other family living in R.D.J., Brasil.
Maggie, you ever hear of a town, Albany, Ohio? How far would you be from Athens?
Falachaidh, I haven't heard of Albany, Ohio and I'm about 170 miles from Athens. I have been thru Ohio to Indianapolis, Indiana. I have relatives in Columbus and my husbands brother lives in Dayton. There is some pretty country side in parts of Ohio.
Falachaidh, thanks anyway. You are very young! and Buenos Aires is a nice city, despite the lack of a good government, and your opinion. I lived in the States two years and I opted to return here (and my roots ARE there since 1630), be happy Maggie Malone, my best wishes for you in this pretty and sunny argentine day
Thanks, Jorge. No problem with the spelling. I do the same thing sometimes. I'm glad that your back on the message forum with us. I wish I could say it was nice and sunny here. It's not raining now but is cold and I think the sun is trying to peep out. We have had buckets and buckets of rain, which has caused floods and about 4 deaths so far. A real tragedy.
Have a good day!
