This is the first time I've been sitting at the computer to listen during the play of Folk Scene. Paul, I REALLY like it... I'm so glad you've added it as a feature on CR. |

Doesn't not-rating a song because you don't like it, versus rating it with a low number of stars, sort of defeat the purpose of a rating system? It seems like it should be honest in both directions. It's not that I go out of my way to low-rate songs I don't like... but if there is one, I try to be honest in how I rate it. And the same goes for songs I really like and want to hear more of. With a station that is as user-supported and user-driven as Celtic Radio is (which I love), both messages "I love this song, please play it all the time" and "If I hear this song one more time, I am going to take a hammer to my speakers" seem like they'd be equally important. Aren't they? |

QUOTE (DiMaSt @ 14-Feb-2012, 03:59 PM) | My favorite Tin Cup Gypsy song has been "To the Sea"....but I just heard "She Just Is" for the first time - I think I need to buy this album. I've commented on a couple of the other songs somewhere around here, I think, but it's time for me to get the whole album and listen whenever I want to. Good music |
YES you need to buy this album. Bury Me is my favorite... sort of a Deep South spiritual... gorgeous. I love Cassandra's voice. She Just Is is really fun, and we love Chase the Sun, too. Oh, and Wildfire. And Secret. Oh, just buy the album. |

Listening to this does bring back good memories... I did indeed like the original CT show. But I like that new clasical-y guy too. I do, I do. They should keep him. |

Some things even predate Ryan Kelly.
Celtic Radio is a great place... lots of different stations to choose from and nice people who run it. You can help support the site/stations here by becoming a founding member. Very worth the cost and helps the station to continue to run commercial-free, too! |

At last! Long awaited, Ryan Kelly's debut album "In Time" is everything I'd hoped it would be, and more. Ryan's voice ranges from smoky sexiness to gentle and tender, taking a listener on a journey of emotion from one spectrum clear across to the other. New to fans, however, may be the depth of his songwriting skills. The strength of this CD lies in the fact that every song is its own story... In Time takes us through the heart and soul of a man and, at times, the sentiments seem so personal and intimate that I'm not quite sure I should be there listening. The Village That They Call The Moy, Broken Things, and So Far Apart are songs that will be familiar to those who are already fans of Ryan's, but have been rearranged and updated to make them fresh and new. The Village That They Call the Moy, especially, is a brilliant track! Emily, Make You Proud, and Secret Bit of Right from Wrong are all upbeat songs that will make you tap your feet, snap your fingers, and hum along from the first notes. These are BEGGING to be played on the radio! Secret Bit of Right from Wrong is an impossibly fun piece that I find myself humming to... in the car, in my house, at the store. It gets in your head and just doesn't want to leave! Go If You Want To and Perfect Man showcase that husky quality in Ryan's voice which always has fans sitting up and murmuring, "I gotta get me some of that." The first time I heard "Perfect Man," I immediately imagined Ryan cranking it out in some smoky bar. Definitely two of my favorites! Heaven Bound is a heartbreaking piece touching on the subject of child molestation and the long-term effects on those victimized. Beautifully written and performed, the lyrics give voice to the heart of a subject that we too often try to pretend doesn't exist. To me, the most beautifully done tracks on this CD are In Too Deep and Get Over You. Perfectly arranged and balanced musically, sung with aching emotion, the glimpses here into a man's heart and soul touch me at the core. I find myself playing them multiple times in a row before being able to move on to the next song. With "In Time," Ryan has proven that he is far more than the "Dark Destroyer" that fans have come to know on stage. Passion and tenderness permeate through every track, and make this an album that will be played over and over in anyone's collection! |

Thanks to Celtic Radio, I've recently become exposed to Blackmore's Night... I just love and adore their "Now and Then" song... and I'm interested in picking up more of their repertoire, but there's so much and I don't know where to start!
What are your favorite tracks from their albums? |
