I am interested in GMing a campaign very loosely based on the books of Charles de Lint. This is an urban fantasy setting, meaning that it takes place in a modern day setting. I am looking for 3-4 players. I will be posting a description of the campaign setting, the fictional city of Wytheville VA.To create a character simpy fill out the following character sketch:
Some items I accidentally left off the character sketch:
Source of income (if your character has a job list it here) Residence (Where does he or she live)
Please notice that the GM is the final judge of what is acceptable or not. Typically no characterr starts off with any sort of power or ability, though it is not impossible with GM aproval. But don't get upset if the GM says no. Just create a typical modern day person. In our original group of four, we had a retired college professor, the owner of a computer business, a carpenter and a Wiccan who taught spirituality classes at the college! If you need any sort of information like business names let me know!
Since it looks like its only going to be the two of us, I'll create a c character too and post his or her stats soon.
Wiz, I would be interested in this but I don't know the series it is based on. However, I could do the Wiccan since I am Wiccan and it wouldn't be to hard to get into the character. Let me know what I can do to help
It really doesn't matter if you haven't read the series. The game is really only very loosely based on it anyway. All that you really need to know is that it is modern day fantasy.
As far as the Wiccan character goes, as one of the original characters, she will be an NPC. However you can create a Wiccan character of your own if you like!
Yeah, I'm gonna have to ask you some questions about the stats later... I'm not sure what to put for some of the things Wiz....but I'm still interested just haven't gotten round to it yet.
Here is an example of a character. I will be using this one:

I need to correct one small error in Erin's character sketch. Erin works as a waitress at a pub called Words and Music, so she would have to be 21 years old to serve alcoholic beverages.
Cool! Thanks Wiz! Hey, I am only loosely familiar with the series- unfortunately I have yet to read them. Is this like our world, only with magic openly extant? And what other races exist here. Are we talking pretty much the typical fantasy races? Or are there, say, Sidhe as well as elves, for example?
Actually, this IS our world. Your character should be someone who could exist in our everyday world. Because of this, the only race you can choose is human. Magic exists, but it is not common knowledge. When your characters first encounter TRUE magic it will most likely scare them. De Lint's books deal heavily with the Celtic fey folk and with Native American spirituality.
Just try to get a mental image of your character, what she or he is like, what they like/dislike, what they look like, what their life has been like up until now. Remember that, for the most part, their lives have been pretty mundane and typical up until the moment the game begins!
Just let me know if you have any questions I can help witth!
