Hello friends and prayer warriors. Just wanted to ask for your prayers and thoughts for my husband and his family. My husband's mother died this morning at age 92. She lived a good long life, was a believer in Christ and so I trust she is in heaven with him right now. We were with her yesterday and while alert and she knew us all by name. we were able to kiss and tell her goodbye and see her in Heaven. God took her on her 92nd birthday, which was today, but also her wishes...How great is God? And what a better birrthday present than that? However, our family is really grieving and now we have to plan a funeral..as some of you know is very difficult to do. You think you are prepared, but when it comes...you really never are.

Many thanks.

I am sorry to hear that, but it is truly amazing she got her wish to go on her birthday. Sending prayers to you and your family!

She is in Heaven and is Home. She watches over you always and will be waiting for your turn to return Home. Then you shall be together again forever. I know times will be hard and you will miss her greatly but think always of the good long life she had and remember the good times and memories you all have shared over the years. Remember her teachings and wisdom and pass them on to your children. Your mother lives in Heaven but through your rememberings and teachings she also still lives on earth for she lives always in your heart. My grandmother went Home when I was 16 and my angel went Home a few years ago. Yes, I still miss them very much and there are times I feel so very lonely and wish for them to hold me. But I know they are not far away and watch over us always and someday we shall be together again forever.
From time to time Gram pays a visit and I hear her teachings. Jean-Thomas visits most everyday and sends us rainbows. he walks in the garden and rings the windchimes as he passes by.
When you are feeling sad and lonely just look up to Heaven. Where the sun shines down in beams are the windows of Heaven opened. You mother watches over you through these windows. The rainbows are the pathway to Heaven. Look for the sunbeams and rainbows and you will know your mother is near and watching over you still. Remember the times you shared together and teach your children.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Don't be sad. Rejoice in the good long life she had on earth and the peace she has in Heaven.

saying i'm sorry for your loss seems so cold but these are the words and they come from the heart, 92 is a good life, think of all the things she's seen

Blessings on all of you at this time. May God ease the hurts and allow the joyous memories of a long life shine through.

Oh, I like that, darlin'.
I never mentioned this to anyone before, but I felt my grandmother's presence awhile back when a butterfly came by and lit upon my arm... it stayed there awhile, waving its wings slowly, then lifted into the air and went on its way. As sure as if I heard her voice, I knew she was watching and pleased with the way my life has turned out. We were not close the last 5 or 6 years of her life and I regret now not spending more time with her, being kind and just listening to her.. she needed that, and I failed. But after the butterfly's visit, I know she's not angry with me. She's happy.

Rose, I empathize with you and your sweetheart. We lost my father-in-law only 3 years ago and now mother-in-law is terminally ill with very painful bone cancer. Its devastatingly sad and heartbreaking, and the only hopeful thought we have is that she will be in heaven when this struggle down here is over. She'll be reunited with her husband, see her own parents again, and those who have gone on before her. Those must be sweet reunions, aye...

Love ya friend, you know that.
SB

From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king..."

Thanks all for your kindness and wonderful stories!

SB, I pray for your MIL and wish her to go peacefully and reunite with her husband.

The thing that is so strange is once you lose your parents, then you know you are the next generation to go, eh? unsure.gif That has been weird for us. Has anyone else felt that way?

Thanks!

I haven't yet Rose, but I know that time will come.

Having a generation older than you is like having a buffer between you and the grave isn't it?

I have never felt that way. I guess for me tis different than for most. I am a miracle baby that wasn't expected to live, a handicapped child born to a poor family. But momma never gave up on me, she fought and willed me to live. I learned to nurse and grew and learned to fight and live. I couldn't have children yet the Lord blessed me with 5 of which one is an angel come to earth for but a short time. Each and everyday is a gift and a blessing for me. The good Lord will call me Home when it is my time. Find joy in each new day and learn as much as you can. Though I do worry at times how I shall manage when momma is called Home. The Lord is always here and He will always provide. We are never alone.

You don't know me as I am a new kid on the block. I read your posting & was touched.....what a precious time you and your family had with your Mom as you said goodbye. Knowing that heaven awaits her on the other side is such a BIG hope, isn't it?
I know what it feels like to lose a parent-my Dad died many years ago when I was 18 & I will never forget the pain. But, he has stayed with me over the years, and I have had some wonderful visits with him in my dreams. Great conversations about love & life.
I will be sending some prayers up for God's comfort!
God Bless,
Melissa
