Actually, it starts on Thursday with some special shows and a dinner but we don't go to that. The real fun begins on Friday evening and always ends with the Glengarry Bhoys show in the main tent.
That's why you need to find a very early flight and get settled in before the fest begins Friday evening. Don't forget to bring good walking shoes. This festival is over a mile long and Charlie plays from one end to the other at various stages.
Ahh, you are SO helpful...A Shrule Egan....good heads up on the shoes! I just ordered Among The Heather today and can't wait for it to arrive!! I've requested several songs from the cd so I would know I wanted it...which I do! I'll follow your link now and check it out! It looks like pathough will be there too, maybe there will be a group of CelticRadio folks there after all!! Thanks again!
Yes, I will be there Amy. I was just checking the schedule. You can check it out: http://www.celticfest.org/CelticFest05/Fes...al-Schedule.php Charlie will be performing with fiddler Tad Marks and percussionist Mark Sullivan. The trio has a great sound!!
Ack...I just got home from soccer...114F on the field...is WAY too hot! But was happy when I got home (and NOT just for the a/c) because my new cd Among The Heather was here waiting for me!!! So now, I am going to take my contacts out, change into my other clothes and finish painting a bedroom while listening to Charlie Z...and pretending that I am Celtic Fest!!! Yeah!
WELL I just heard CZ's version of Danny Boy, not sure how I've missed it before but...it has just moved in as my new favorite of said song...guess I'll be looking for another CZ soon...
Well, I have been playing my Among The Heather cd in the car...and I have to agree with pathough....I also like If Ever I Would Leave You...feel like CZ is singing it just for me...and in the car...he is!! So thought I better chime in and add that as well....
Hey, Amy! It's November, and somehow I missed this whole conversation. I have not been on this forum in forrrrrrrrrever! But yes, you need to come out here and hear Charlie sing!!! He is the GREATEST!
Hi, Pat! Didn't know you were on here! I really need to visit more often.
So how surprised were you to see that I was on here?? :-)
Hi Amy!
I hope you are still enjoying "Among the Heather"! It's getting close to the holiday season, Charlie's Christmas album is the best.
Yes, Amy, you still need to see a live Charlie show! In addition to the terrific music, you get to meet some of the great people that come to the shows!
I guess I was not too surprised to see you on here after all, knowing you...which is like knowing myself, we are so much alike when it comes to Charlie and his music!
Yes, Amy, there is NOTHING like Charlie live!!! His CDs are great, but they still don't capture the magic of an in-person performance. You should try for a Cabin in the Woods house concert. They're in NJ, and of all the events he does that is the best place to hear his music. Just him and his guitar in the Cabin's living room. Ahhh. The Cabin gang is great, too....sweet folks.
When we go, because we are from VA, we stay overnight at a Howard Johnson in Bellmawr, NJ, about 20 minutes from where the concerts are. Inexpensive, clean rooms. If you decide to go for one, let me know and I can give you the hotel's # and address! I am hoping to go back in February or March. We have a farm so I have to go before the goats start kidding and I lose my mind for the rest of the spring/summer.
And yes, Charlie's Christmas CD is WONDERFUL!!! You should hear him sing O Holy Night.
Oh...that's a good idea...I love Christmas cd's and I bet he does a wonderful job! Perhaps that should be my next CZ cd to buy!! Thanks for the idea! I really like his version of "She moved through the faire"...guilty of requesting that one
I am cleaning the oven just now and noticed there is LOTS of CZ coming up!! This should me my cleaning go much faster...or well...at least I can sing as I scrub!!!
Its is hard to believe the Holidays are upon us again. It seems like just yesterday I was wishing you a loving Christmas or Hanukkah---just yesterday I was singing Christmas carols of the Miracle of the Season, and of togetherness with your loved ones. Just yesterday. Where did the year go? I guess we all wonder the same things. I wish for you and yours all the blessings the Season has to offer, and I do hope we meet at some of the Celtic Christmas shows listed on my schedule:
My Website is currently updated through February with lots of programs I hope you may enjoy! More will be added as they are booked and confirmed.
***CRUISE TO BERMUDA REMINDER---I hope you can come with us on our Celtic Concert Cruise to Bermuda April 30-May 7 2006 aboard the Norwegian Crown!!! PLEASE CONTACT NOW! Norwegian informs us that the rest of the cruise is booking fast, so if you want to come with us (and I certainly hope you do!) please contact Fan Club Cruises ASAP to guarantee a cabin. We will have a fantastic time, and pics of the recent Nova Scotia cruise are found in my Fan Pics page on my Web site. Come to Bermuda with us! Lots of music, friends, and good times. Click here:
Please remember music makes a great Christmas gift! I have many CDs to choose from, as well as video filmed in Scotland, and I generally can mail them out the day after I receive the order. Especially now as I am in-town through the end to the year (though I have 13 shows in 15 days starting this Wednesday---yikes!). If you want anything autographed, just drop me a line to tell me so and I am happy to personalize it for you or a loved one. On-line ordering is quickest (quicker than the mail) and it is easy to do. Here is the link to my CD page:
Remember, I perform in MANY non-public events, those events are not detailed here. Please contact me if you'd like to bring my music to your special engagement. Also, if you know about concert series or festival I should do, please let them and me know!
Please ALWAYS call the performance venue to ensure my schedule hasn't changed.

I think the cruise would be fantastic..When ever I think of Celtic Radio Mr. Charlie Zahm is one of the first that comes to mind. If you have never heard this man sing you need to go to his website and listen for yourself or listen to Celtic Radio.. Also a thank you to you Mr. Zahm for your wonderful music that you give us..
