I just watched VERNICA GUERIN now that was a good one, sad but I do belive she did that right thing. I am gald thet they changed the laws and are now able to stop the drug lords where it will hurt them most $$$$$$$$
I have two questions 1. In Ireland do they have parole like we here? ( hope not) 2 . Who sang the song at the end? It was in Gaelic then went into English.

If you are talking about the song the young boy sang when she was murdered and they were telling her son and family about her death, then it was 'The Fields of Athenry'. Very sad and touching song from the era of the potato famine. In the movie it was performed by 12-year-old Brian O'Donnell.

"...so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."
Most recently, I just watched the new Vin Diesel release 'Babylon AD'. AArrrrgggg!!! Don't waste your time. I left there wanting my $9.00 back and feeling as if they had just stolen 1 1/2 hours of my life.
Just watched the Matchmaker filmed in Ireland it was ok something to watch I don't think I would of went to the theater to watch it.
LeeLee and Ranger this is go too sound morbid ( my daughter thinks so). I've been colleting songs to be put on a cd for when I die to be played at my funeral when it's my time. I find the music they play depressing and thats not what I want my family and friends too feel. Hey I would even want them to be that I know my daughter would really not like or go for. lol

Nae, it's not morbid. I know many friends (incl. myself) that are thinking ahead in preparation of such times. It is what you want as a final send off so that the family is not burdened with this (i.e. what would've she liked for music, theme etc). There will be a day that your children will understand, why you do/did the things that you do/did.
It took me a while to understand this myself. It makes total sense to me now.
Rented a movie with the nephew last night "What happens in Vegas" with Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher. It was inda of almost okay, but I don't think Kutcher could act his way out of a plastic bag!
At the theatre he talked me into going to "Pineapple Express" with a totally forgetable cast. I love my nephew dearly but he has all the taste of a 14 year old . . . . oh, yeah! He is a 14 year old!
Harlot - I think many of us do that. Children won't understanf why for a good many years. If that song appealed to you, this might be of interest:
Brian O'Donnell Folk/Traditional Soloist
Dublin street singer. Brian sung the song "Bad News" to the traditional Irish folk tune of "The Fields Of Athenry" in the soundtrack of "Veronica Guerin" (2003). the most memorable cue is 'Bad News' which features a stunning vocal performance by 10-year old Brian O'Donnell of an Irish folk tune called "Fields of Athenry". Apparently, Gregson-Williams heard young O'Donnell singing for money on the streets of Dublin when he was visiting Schumacher's set, and subsequently sent a friend of his brother Rupert's to go back to Dublin and record this lad's unnatural talent. Gregson-Williams's music surrounds and envelops O'Donnell's lisping voice, giving it depth and strength, and the inclusion of a choir gives it a moving, almost epic feel.
Now i'm going to see if I can find a computer copy. Have a good week everyone.
To be honest - I wish they had done that with the original copy of the script.
How they managed to get big name celebrities to appear in this is beyond my ken! If it's supposed to be an intrigue movie - it fails miserably! If it's supposed to be a comedy movie - steeeeee-rike 2. If it's supposed to be an entertaining movie - turn out the lights, the show is over!
This movie was so bad even the popcorn tasted terrible!
My best recommendation - don't even waste the $5 when the video is released!
I cannot remember the last time I was so bored at a movie.
I watched Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End last. Meh.

May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
