[i]It's been quite a while since Donnie Munro decided to leave Runrig and proceed solo. Now Bruce Guthro (a Canadian from Nova Scotia) takes his vocals. What do you think about all this? I think solo Donnie is even better than Runrig with Bruce Guthro. In the end Donnie's emotional way of singing contributed a big part to Runrig's fame. Although he didn't write the lyrics he was able to sing them with an incedible amount of emotional expression. Bruce Guthro however, sounds more like Garth Brooks or something like that. I don't think he's a bad singer but his voice just doesn't fit. Now what do you folks think?[b]

Bruce Guthro is no bad singer, I like his voice but compared to Donnie he's a bit weak.
I have nearly Runrig Records and I often compared them. Bruce's voice has been developed well in technical terms (I had some singing lessons and the first thing I learned is to listen).
But Donnies voice is one of the strongest I ever heard.

Well a bit outdated the question .. eh? As Bruce said in inverness: "If I were a spot on your a..... and been there for four years would you still call me new"? lol But to ur question: I like Runrig both with Donnie and Bruce tho i have to say the bands much better on stage since Bruce joined. So much more life and interaction !!! And u really can see the lads enjoying themselves on stage. Well voicewise Bruce is a bit more "smooth" if u know what i mean but he fits in well. Donnie has a great voice, even when hes speaking hehe. Apart from that i dont know him that well tho i get used to his second album weaver of the grass. Its a bit boring i think, but no bad. Else I donīt think Donnie is as approachable as Bruce ... doesnt greet when i see him on the street. Very busy these days tho. His new albums due to come out and theres some trouble here, so i dont know actually when it will be in the shop. Apart from that i think Runrig are still a great band and the Lyrics on the Stamping ground speak right to the heart ... and the small asset of wonderful music loooool
It just makes u jump and dance  ::smilingcolor And to end my sermon (hehe) i think Donnie and Bruce are two different characters and it shows in there voice ... but RR are still brill (d)
