I find it pityful and appauling that modern 21st century man has not been able to come up with anything new in the way of invention... only to improve on the finds and machines of past inventors. Does this mean we have reached our peak?

It's still early, we're only 5 years into the 21st century. give it time There's stuff on the drawing board.
