I know this is a really weird topic, but I was wondering what is your favorite type of weather? My favorite is rain. It just makes you feel cleansed (in my mind) and I love just listening to it downpour and trying to guess when the next thunder or lightning is going to happen. What about you?

I love sunshine with a temperature somewhere between 7 C and 23 C. (That's between 45 F and 75 F for you non-metric, old fashioned types wink.gif) I love wearing shorts and a sweat shirt.

Rain is nice at night. I think it's very soothing to hear rain drops on the roof.

I like morning weather. You know, where its not hot yet, and the dew is still sparkling in the air and on the grown, and there's the faint sweet smell of freshness hanging over everything.

I love wind...and the sound of raindrops falling on the roof ...warm sunshine and frosty cold weather...
but most of all I like the early morning hours, the dew in the air and the grass, the wonderful fresh air and the morning mists over the river...

I like a bright crisp fall day, when the trees are a riot of reds and golds. Perfect day for a fall festival.

Fall days are really pretty.

For me, it would just depend on what time of the year it is.

Right now the Temperatures are in the low 70's with a real soft rain. These are especially great after having a few days of very HOT days. It makes you just kind of want to just kick back and get some rest. wink.gif

A rainy spring night sleeping under a tin roof is wonderful.
A crisp fall morning is very nice.
A cold winter's day with sunshine on the snow has it's charm.

90 degrees and bikinis may be my favorite, though. smile.gif

For my part, give me a day in mid-winter around 30 degrees f, when the sky has that heavy gray quality to it, and its so still you can hear the hiss each and every snowflake makes as it hits the ground and trees. The bigger the flakes the better. And every sound you make seems to echo for eternity. Thats my favorite kind of day!

I think a person's favorite type of weather says something bout their personality, but it may just be the night and two hours of practicing fiddling getting to me..

So, um, I'm afraid to ask but what does my choice of weather tell you about me? smile.gif

Night. Overcast with the moon barely visible throught the clouds. It's so bright that it makes a halo through the clouds. The wind is blowing a little more than softly. It blows hard enough to open my jacket and breeze down the front but not hard enough to cause me to be uncomfortable. Their is a lite mist or fog and a very subtle rain. The temp is around 30 and the wind makes it feel like 20. And silence not a sound except the wind whispering in my ears.
That is my kind of weather.

My favorite weather is where it's over cast and cool and there is a heavy mist and clouds in the air as they are in the highland moors. North Carolina has weather like this, so that's where I be heading one of these days!

Weather or knot king.gif
Translation..... I like windy weather. Wind speed may be measured in MPH or knots. Knots is usually used by the military or sailors. king.gif

I LOVE the sky blue and clear sometimes too!

We had to go to town today. There was a light drizzle and the sky was gray and seemed so close you could almost reach out and touch it. A light fog was just touching the tops of the trees, and the mountains were almost gone. The trees seemed to have so much more color than usual, a lush rich deep green. Seemed so inviting. Just a lovely day in my opinion!

Sounds heavenly, wizard. Why don't you box it and send some my way? These 90+ degree days are getting old really quickly..and it's not August yet. I think we're in for a 110 plus summer...plus the humidity and heat index...oy

Today was a pleasant change from the hot days with thunder storms we've been having in the evenings. I'm just not a summer time person. Wish I lived somewhere where the months jumped stragiht from March to October! I hibernate all summer, rarely coming out from under my air conditioner except when absolutely necessary!

Posted by: greenldydragon 13-Jun-2004, 07:31 AM
That's exacctly what I do.... Much more of a spring and autumn person. Never have been a summer person. I can deal with the heat, but not continuously. I would much more prefer thunderstorms and rain showers.

Hard to decide on my favorite. October's my favorite time of year; love a cool, overcast, damp day. Moss soft beneath my feet, the light a golden-reddish hue filtered through the Autumn leaves. A breeze wafting wood smoke from a campfire. Also love a summer evening with a wild thunderstorm pounding the atmosphere. Brilliant flashes of lightning almost blinding in their intensity, thunder cracking and rumbling on and on. Rain slashing, wind gusting to the point that the whole world seems to be rocking and shaking. Then there's those spring days when the air's so soft it could cushion the harshest mood. The fresh, new green (not the tired dark green of late summer), all the critters of the woods stirring with newly renewed purpose. A crisp, cold, dark night with stars so brilliant you could reach out and pluck one from the sky. Dang...a difficult decision.
