Andy M. Stewart is one of my favorites singers. His most recent album/CD is Donegal Rain, from 1997. It is going on eight years since that release. Any one know why he is not recording anything new?

Unfortunately, I haven't heard of anything new coming out. I adore Andy too. Actually, I was at Grandfather Mountain a couple of years ago and I heard Alex Beaton say that Andy Stewart had died. I was in mourning for over a year till I figured out that it was "Andy Stewart", not "Andy M. Stewart" who had passed on. Oh, the relief! Well...I still feel bad for the other guy, but...it's not who I thought it was! He's still alive and kicking, at least the last I'd heard. Here's hoping for another album!!

Andy M. Stewart has got to have one of the best traditional male voices, past or present. Whether you are listening to his solo work or with Silly Wizard, he stands above so many.

As for the other Andy Stewart, my band used to be hired to play during his show when he played here in Ottawa. The audience was always a sea of blue haired ladies. Not my cup of tea.

Andy M. Stewart really is a shining musician. I'll have to agree, one of the best (at least male) traditional or modern celtic voices out there.
