Haven't seen Michael Clayton but you are like my wife and son, they faithfully watched the X-Files series together from start to finish. The only television they shared in common. They even named the cat Scully!!
My son and I were nuts about X-Files too... he says if his first child is a boy, he's going to name him Fox. But our last name is Gardner, so that may bring about some teasing so I don't know, maybe a more traditional name would do.

"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king..."

Fox Gardner, nice ring. My son who likes X-Files, Daniel, I tried to name after the town we live in, Bolton, in Connecticut but my wife would have nothing to do with it. Wonder why???!!!???, Bolton McNutt has a nice ring to it!!!
Hey, with a name like McNutt, you grow up with a sense a humor!!!

" The Diving Bell and The Butterfly" initially a French film, so if you do watch it make sure it's the one with subtitles, absolutely great film, sad as in it's a true story, but absolutely one of the films of the year for me, loved it.. now looking to get the book..
Our DirecTV offered free Starz channel over the weekend, so last night we were able to see a movie called 'The Guardian' with Kevin Costner & that kid that married Demi Moore... oh, Ashton something. Anyway, it showed Coast Guard trainees and was pretty interesting, think 'Officer & a Gentleman' without Lou Gossett's hilarious "May-oh-NAZE!" taunts... Pretty good film, but no Oscar material here. There were a couple of plot quirks that made you wonder if the writer had a brain fart or something while he was creating the script.
I'm countin' the days til X-FILES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dared a peek on the Internet and learned this one isn't going to be about aliens, its more conspiracy-themed. That's all I read, I don't want to know too much. Good cast, according to one site (Billy Connolly is listed, I remember he played a character in one episode but got killed... He is an absolute hoot, can't wait to see what he does in this new film!) Hope they bring Skinner back, he's the coolest thing.
Watched The Waterhorse, with my grandkids,it was a really good movie, even when thet shot the big guns off my 5 year old grandson didn't get upset he just said "it's just a movie grandma it's not real".

A friend of mine at the garden club my wife and I belong to mentioned a funny movie she had seen several years ago - named The Dish. She described it so well that I went to eBay while she was talking and found two copies - one for her since she had borrowed a friend's copy - and one for me. Both copies came last week and I've watched the movie twice and it's great!
The story is set in 1969 during the launch of Apollo 11 and details the sometimes funnier -than-all-get-out moments as well as the extraordinary pressure that the men who ran the then-largest radio satellite dish receiver underwent, which just happened to be located in a sheep paddock located in Parkes, Australia.
If you can get a copy, please try, since it is one of the best comedy-dramas I have seen in a long time. It's very down to earth in its approach to telling what it was like nearly 39 years ago with the very first human beings attempting to walk on the moon, and what's even better, it's true! Definitely, two thumbs way up!
jp-I liked Stardust as well. I recently saw The Mist Stephen King- I didn't think I would like it but oh how wrong was I...I do wish someone would of warned me that the thing thats scares me the most is in it and I honestly didn't know if I was going to get through it or not. It held my attention. There was one woman in it that I was so happy to see her "get killed" that's terrible but if you see it you'll know. A lot of folks are upset about the ending and I thought it was something to be upset about. Other than that I can't tell ya much more cause I will give it all away. I'd say this one is a thumbs UP! Let's see since the last time I posted I saw is it No Country for Old Men I liked it very well also. Thought the actors did a good job. I thought it was bloody but wasn't as bad as Sweeny Todd. Now that was a odd movie. Very odd. There again I thought oh this isn't gonna keep my attention but it did. As usually Johnny Depp did a good job.
I saw the Last Legion awhile back and I was like you very different.
I saw Awake-that freaked me out- now if I have to have surgeries I really hope I am all the way out..gee...
I also saw To Kill A King it was pretty good as well. Kind of boring.
Well that's my thumbs up or down and I did pretty well at picking them cause I enjoyed them all.
Have a good time at the movies folks..."pass the popcorn please" lol
