AFGHASNISTAN

Yesterday 3 March 2009 three more young Canadian Warriors died by another act of cowardice by the Taliban. That brings the total to 111. Per capita that is the highest casualty rate amongst all Nato and Allied troops. Our young people are dying in a war that cannot be won for a people who neither appreciate nor care.
In a few days The "Heroes Highway" will carry another convoy of the fallen and again our citizens will gather on the overpasses and service roads to honour them as they journey Home.

We in the US care about and appreciate the sacrifice your young men have made. We too honor their memory.

The following article has a different slant to what is happening in Afghanistan. What, if any, significance it may have, I don't know.

Believe me when I say that we, your Northern Cousins know that you appreciate and respect what our Military do. I personally thank you and all Americans. As a veteran and Legion Member, and the older I get the loss of these fine young men and one young woman seems to affect me deeper. Perhaps it is true that the Glory of War resides only in the minds of old Warriors. To me they are the "Glorious Dead" and I will never forget their sacrifice.
