Celtic Radio Community > Introductions > Another Hello From The Netherlands

Hi everyone,

Through a website of someone I met on the message board of one of my favourite bands I found a link to this website. When I visited for the first time I found out there's a whole community! Great!
I'm crazy about celtic music (obviously rolleyes.gif ) so I hope to come here more often and enjoy everything going on. I'm trying to learn to control my bodhrán, but we are new to each other so I need help from a teacher. Luckily I found one in The Netherlands. Furthermore I'm struggling with a couple of whistles, but it really is struggling and I'm not making a lot of progress. Nevertheless, I enjoy it! biggrin.gif
Wonderful to be here and hope to meet all of you soon!

So nice to meet you! and to hear that you are not only listening to celtic music, but becoming a musician and adding your sound to the mix. I love it that you're playing the bodhran -- I would love to do that myself, but I haven't tried it yet.

May I make a suggestion about the whistles? First just get the breath regular and the breathing and fingers working together, on slower tunes. You can be making a slow air really beautiful before long. Then the faster stuff and the ornaments will come easier.

I hope we hear from you often!

Corwinna, welcome to CelticRadio. I think you will find some of the best celtic music anywhere here and even better - some really great people to get to know! I'll look forward to hearing more from you and how your music is progressing! Once again, welcome!

Hi Corwinna! I see that you have already met some of the wonderful people that frequent CR! There are lots of them here, and the music is great too! I am learning the tin whistle also, but it has been very slow going.

Welcome to the family, my friend!

Hi everyone and thanks for the warm welcome. After my registration I've been away for a long time due to very sad family circumstances, but I'm back on track now and hope to be visiting here more often.
I'm still struggling with my bodhráns (got 2 now!) and with the whistles. Somehow I don't seem to make progress in a while and then suddenly I learn a new trick! I love it and will continue definitely.
My friend is a guitarplayer and because of my love for celtic music has now fallen in love with the bouzouki. We're going to save some money and who'll tell, one day...... wink.gif

welcome home!!!greetings from the great white north.......enjoy the people and forums but mostly the music and post, post, post!!!

the advice is good about learning airs first, when you feel you could do the fingering in your sleep then move to the faster stuff...i find the glissants really hard to get the fingers going!!!! biting the whistle instead of lipping it works really well too!!! note.gif note.gif
