While talking to my boss/stepfather-in-law (damn extended families), when we were discussing the pathetically hideous mood I have been in. I stated, "I swear I think men have a cycle." and his reply was, "Yeah, just without the evidence".

I couldn't agree more. Any of you fellas out there ever notice this? I think for me personally, I get into a REALLY foul mood about once in every two months or so, and takes me about a week for it to run it's course.
(if not, let me know too, that way I can be assured i'm cracked)

Haha! that's hilarious!!! It brings me to thinking...it would make more sense....plus it would only be FAIR to us women who have to go through the whole thang every month!!!!!!!!! Haha!

There's a dear little plant that grows in our Isle
Twas St . Patrick himself, sure, that set it;
And the sun of his labour with pleasure did smile,
And with dew from his eye often wet it.
It grows through the bog, through the brake, through the
Mireland, and they call it the dear little shamrock of Ireland.

Many studies have linked testosterone with aggression (an effect size of d = 0.40 was reported in a meta-analysis by Archer, Birring & Wu, 1998). Testosterone has also been linked to negative moods (Doering, Brodie, Kraemer, Becker & Hamburg, 1974), sex drive (Schiavi, White, Mandeli, & Levine, 1997), and even improved spatial skills and impaired verbal ability (Christiansen & Knussman, 1987, but see also contrasting findings by O?Connor, Archer, Hair & Wu, 2001). High levels of testosterone are related to concerns over status and dominance (Josephs, Newman, Brown, & Beer, 2003). Others have argued that testosterone promotes ?simple thought and action,? (p.43) paying less attention to abstract, subtle, or complex objects and relationships (Dabbs & Dabbs, 2000). High-testosterone men are less likely to marry, more likely to divorce, and report a lower quality of marital interaction (Booth & Dabbs, 1993).

If you look at it that way, it's not a monthy sort of thing then. It's relative to the last time he........... well, you know. And I know I'd be cranky if I went 74 days.

As for men having a period, of sorts. Normaly, I'm a pretty agreeable guy, but I'm going to have to call you nuts on this one, man. (if indeed you are wink.gif )

You will notice that a man's "mood" is often in harmony with the woman's. Could this be because they are not getting any? I know that is when my mood is " on the bitchy side" ! LOL!

Now look lads and lassies the whole reason women have mood swings was God's little pratical joke on men....it's the one excuse we have to get what we want.....if we are just being a *****then we can say it's just that time, when it really isn't and if we want an excuse to eat chocolate...or we gain a few extra pounds it's that time again! And ultimately the "not tonight I have a headache" excuse has been done to death, so we can use this as a ploy to get some rest! biggrin.gif

Yes, all of these tactics will work............. if your husband is a completely inattentive bufoon. tongue.gif

IS, you ask what's up with that? It's the absolute truth! There are two things that get me in a foul mood. My cars giving me grief, and my woman doing the same. That's it. Anything else that pisses me off, I usually get over it within five minutes.

Nah, men don't have that kind of cycle. What DOES cause irrational mood swings in men is either too much or not enough good beer. laugh.gif

This is a good point...maybe I should take this up with the wife...though the margaritas last night seemed to help quite a bit.

In my house, it's never MY fault, no matter what it is.

Forgot to take the trash out? Not my fault.
Left something burning on the stove? Not my fault.
Spent too much money at the bar? Not my fault.

It's not necessarily my wife's fault that these things happen, it's just not mine.

On the subject of male moods, there is a school of thought that men do go through emotional cycles based on ebbs and flows of energy.
