Our gardening is a shared task: the garden itself is in my in-laws yard (They live next door). My wife (and myself, to a lesser degree) have helped with upkeep and shared in the bounty. But this year, due to debilitating illness and family problems (see my post in Health Matters) the garden is in, but we are not taking care of it. A tragedy actually.
Our garden this year consists of 2 container tomatoes, 1 container hot pepper and lots of herbs. The hot pepper is almost dead, to much rain, the tomatoes will be yielding first fruit this week, the herbs are doing just fine most have been in the ground for almost 26 years,
I am no longer able to care for the garden we have in the back yard of this house, and my two neighbours are not so much in gardening. So it is mostly lawn now with some old fruit trees. But - I have a balcony and this is a kind of substitute. I grow tomatos in containers, 4 big plants which are blooming and having quite a number of green fruits already. then there are my big pots with zucchini plants ( a first I did this year ) and they are growing and blooming, so I will be able to harvest zucchinis this year. The rest of space is filled with pots with many different herbs and flowers as well. I love to spend time with caring for all of them.
