I sit at the window
And gaze outside
Watching folks
As they stroll by
Across the road
A gravel path
Skirts the Park
And concrete wharf.
The Pier stands guard
At the Harbour mouth
Its red eye flashing
East and South
The old Lighthouse
Has long been gone
Replaced by a red
And white steel pole.
The Ducks and Geese
And Swans glide by
While overhead
Gulls soar and cry.
The waves lap gently
At the shore
Swishing to and
Gurgling fro
In the Park
The Trees give shade
Scattered here
Or scattered there
Against one clump
The Band Stand sits
Waiting patiently
For the stroke of six
And at the stroke
The Band gives start
And lilting Music
Fills the Park
The Towns' Folk
Gather all around
Tis Sunday Eve
In Old Bronte Town

Leelee; Thank you. . The reason we moved here 30 years ago was not only for work but we loved the small town charm of Bronte and the friendliness off the people. Some time if one closes ones eyes you can see 19th century Bronte floating in the mist.

LOA;

There is problem with posting pictures taken with my camera. They are to big, all 1.9mb and bigger, so they won't load into my profile. Sorry Luv. I'll have to figure out how to make then smaller.

Bronte sounds lovely, was it named after the sisters famed for authorship?

Nice imagery in your poem.

Teriodin;

Actually no. It was Named after Admiral Lord Nelson (who amongst his many titles was Count of Bronte)as it was founded by retired Royal Navy people
