As most of you know my youngest daughter will be getting hitched on the 21st of this month. The event will be taken place outside. Does anyone have any ideas on some nice easy listening celtic music that I could play on the CD player while the guest are waiting for the ceremony to start? If you do please let me know. I would most greatly appreciate it!
One CD I love that might be appropriate is the original 'Celtic Twilight' - Hearts of Space. It is a very soft instrumental collection of Celtic music. If ye can't find that I would suggest anything by John Boswell or Bill Douglas.
I'll check and see what else I might be able to come up with.
It would probably have to be either an instrumental or compilation CD. What I suggest is that you go to like a Wal-Mart, Target or K Mart to where they have the CDs. Around there, they'll have some kind of display of CDs with pleasing music. They usually have two or three Celtic titles. You can sample the CDs by touching the corresponding picture on the display unit.
I once bought a cassette entitled Celtic Bagpipes from that kind of display at Target. It is so relaxing, I pop it in my tape player when I have trouble sleeping.

May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
Have you thought about perhaps using some Enya as her music is romantic, relaxing but not too obtrusive?

Tartangal, Enya had crossed my mind(what little I have left at this stage of the game.) I think my daughter just might like her too. I went thru her CD samples on CDNow. I love her voice and music!
CelticAingeal, I found the Celtic Twilight CD at BuyNow and listened to the song samples. A very nice CD. I Would like to have that CD to listen to myself.
MDF, I bought a CD last week from Wally World called Atmospheres, Scottish Celtic Bagpipes, it is great!
Thanks for you ideas! Now just have to convince my daughter!
Using Enya is a real good choice. I used to play it in the background during the horse shows at the farm. Orinoco flow's music is great for a trot! As for the wedding, that same CD would be wonderful. The latest, "A Day Without Rain" has some familiar tunes for those who watch TV. Much has been incorporated into background music.
Not knowing how much time there is, it would be possible to "burn" a compilation of goodies!

The song Golden golden is very pretty. It's by Silly wizard. Played it at my wedding, a few weeks back. And it's one of the few "slow" songs that my band does... There is always a few that dance to it...

Some men are drawn to oceans, they cannot breathe unless the air is scented with a salty mist. Others are drawn to land that is flat, and the air is sullen and is leaden as August. My people were drawn to mountains- Earl Hamner Jr.
Actually Gaelic Bread, I had thought about burning or have one of the daughters to do it. I am so pressed for time, that I cannot believe that this is June already. I tell you what, the older you get the faster the time goes! June 21st is the hitching date! I still have what seems a million things to do.
The Wicked Tinkers wrote a wedding march for their pipers wedding called Aron & Lesa. I wish it had been written about 13 years ago. It's on their 'Hammered' CD.
I'll see if I can find some good songs for wedding background music. I actually have a CD on Irish Wedding music.
A good song is Maggie's Wedding by the Rankin Family, and also the Celtic version of the theme to Titantic is always nice. I will check the playlist and get back to you.
