I happened across this site while surfing the net and I'm glad I stopped to look around! I was wondering if there were any Wolfstone fans out there? I was lucky enough to see them last month here in the USA and they were awesome. They are all quite talented-Duncan Chisholm is one of the best fiddle players I've ever seen. They spent some time after the show chatting with fans. A pile of us went to the Irish pub a couple of doors down after the show where the band came in to mingle with the commoners. They are a great bunch of guys and very personable.

Welcome to the Highlander Radio Forum Karen! We are glad that "happened" to run into our site, feel free to come again often!
The Wolfstones are great. I know we have a few songs of theirs in the broadcast, would like to have more - especially after hearing what an awesome bunch of people they are! Thanks for sharing this with us!
Thanks! Glad to be here. Here is the link to Wolfstone's website (there is another band out there called the Wolf Tones-I think they are Irish-this is not the same group). Their site has pictures, bio's, and samples of their music. http://www.wolfstone.co.uk/

Sorry if bringing back up a topic over a year old isn't allowed, but there haven't been any general discussion topics about the band since. Over a year! I love Wolfstone, they're by far the best band to have originated in the Highlands, but there's not as much talk about them here as I expected when I joined. Has the radio station made any new fans this year? Any old fans around? Gillies, Ballavanich, Braes of Sutherland, Quinie Fae Ryhnie, The Howl and The Wild and the Free are my favourite songs by them. Just an excellent band all round.
I listened to one of their songs on Highlander Radio today and I really want to get to know this band better ! Which album would you recommend to start ? Do they tour outside Scotland ? Thanks for replies !

Wolfstone are definitely one of my fave artists. I've yet to get their last coupla releases, their new studio CD and the live one. They're my sorta band. Fave CD for me would haveta be the first one I bought - 'The Half Tail' - love that 'Zeto' track!
Good place to start would be one of their compilation CDs, either 'Pick of the Litter' (watch that cover - it's got bite! ), or their live one 'Not Enough Shouting'. Enjoy!

Definitly one of my fav. songs by them would have to be "The Queen of Argyll" off their new c.d

Yup, here I am!!! but it is so hard to get songs of them here...
luckily, I can find 2 local records stores sell Wolfstone CDs Virgin is way too expensive ($20 for a CD, it's insane) and JandR I purchase a lot of Celtic CDs on the latter one
Well because of Highlander radio, I recently purchased Wolfstone's latest CD called "Almost an Island." Wow! What a great CD! I would highly recommend them if you like Scottish music with a beat................and I do! I am just so pleased with this CD and plan to buy more of theirs.
